I took a step back, away from this hectic chaos which surrounds my room everyday of my life. The radiance from a night sticker rounding the room attached to a wind blower spinning slow enough to be followed by a bored three-year-old. Losing sight, blurring my conciousness away, I take another step-back, another look around. It's bland

For 1, that's the point of it...walking backwards.

For 2, you obviously didnt pay too much attention to the description of the setting thrown in the middle of all that, because the main character is about 40, with a young daughter and a wife he has atleast known, if not been married to for 20 years.

It's not necessarily difficult to read, as long as you decipher what's really happening and what's just thoughts and opinions. Its definitely not my style, typically, but I think it shall be. I've never been a fan of straight forward writing, but it's been the way my brain has always functioned, but that's in the process of changing.
