Where to put all this stuff!

So, I called Saint Vincent de Paul and I have arranged to have them come by with a truck on March 27th to pick up the larger furniture that we have not sold ( Read more... )

James just gave all his L5R stuff to Ryan and intrepid_glory. That was so nice of him, and they appreciated it as they just started playing the CCG.

Sorry we can't help out Saturday. We'll be mining our own yard sale type thing with my family selling off granny's stuff that none of us want. Then at 3 Velvet goes into the vet to get all caught up on her shots. Since they've always been primarily indoors, they didn't need all their shots before (did I mention how cool my vets are?), but now that we are moving, I want to make sure cause who knows what will happen up there? Anyhoo, you guys will be coming over for movies Saturday night, right? I hope so. We won't be seeing you for a couple months (unless we come up for job interviews or something).

Can I crash your yard sale? xinejaquette March 22 2006, 15:02:34 UTC
Hey, I have an idea! Would you mind very much if we dragged our crap over to your house Saturday so we could spend the day with you? We would set up our own little area and manage it ourselves. That way will be with friends! Also, I was a little anxious about going to the Santa Cruz Flea Market! It would be like a block party yard sale!

Is this a possibility?

There isn't a dang soul locally who plays L5R, so I sold my lot. Just posted it to the AEG forums, in their pinned trading thread, and ended up selling it off for $275 + shipping so some guy in maine who still plays. Might want to give it a shot. Giving it to a local gamer would also work, if there where any locally I was planning to as well, or try to trade. Actually, when I sold them, I was more looking to trade for RPG books and minis and such, but got offers for cash instead :)

$275!!!!!! xinejaquette March 22 2006, 16:16:05 UTC
Good Lord! I had no idea! I was hoping for $40 or the best offer! Although I knew that the storage boxes unfolded are going for ten on Ebay. I would still prefer to sell to a local since I don't have an Ebay acount and don't want to deal with shipping and time is short!

Well, maybe we will get over $40? We will see! I plan to get a firm price offer from the people who call and offer as well as their e-mail so I can send them an e-mail confirming that I got their offer and tell everyone else in the running where things are at. It is like a mini Ebay thing. I will keep everyone posted and we will see what happens!

Keep in mind, that is partly because of a few factors that I don't think are the case with you guys. One, my stuff included a fair bit of stuff that's still quite tourney legal, including the last three sets of diamond ed, and tourney promos. That also included my various clan vs. binders, and all five of the tourney prize tins from the 'path of [element]' tournies. Oh, and flying tricycle clan mon honor counters, three of them and a base. So, yeah, it was a sorta combo, get it outa my house deal. I honestly was thinking I would get maybe $150 for it, but I got lucky.

I'll have to check with the family to make sure it's still on, but I don't see any problem with that. My aunt was saying on Sunday that they wanted to see if the neighbors wanted to go in on it as well since they used to have yard sales with granny back in the day.

I'll call my aunt tonight and see if we are still on and let you know :)

Hehe, death of the "rightful Empress" huh? That was what, 15-20 years ago? Gametime, anyway. Since then, Asahina Sekawa (among others) has actually become enlightened. Kisada has taken back control of the Crab. Kurohito killed Akiko for treason, then committed sepukku.

A lot has happened since Toturi III hit the throne...

Well, see, someone would have to be paying attention! xinejaquette March 22 2006, 16:12:51 UTC
Yeah, well, we both got sucked into work and tuned out the CCGs. Kurt lost interest in the events over 2 decades ago and he hasn't reconnected since! Unfortunately, there is no decently written fiction I can read to keep us up to date! I know there is stuff posted online but I prefer books I can read in bed!

Anyway, when we get to Portland I am sure there will be incentive to start up again on some game!

Have they even put out printed books since Clan War?
In any case, the online fiction can generally be turned into paper fiction...

Yeah, I still read the online fiction on a regular-ish basis. The game world is still good. To bad the game sucks ;p

On a side note, I still want to get you guys hooked on an Iron Kingdoms RPG game like I've been talking about :)
