Not sure if they are trying to hold him back or help him forward. Great job on the emotions; not easy to make a big fangy wolf guy look tenderly concerned.
I think they are trying to convince him the battle is done and it's okay to rest now, that they are here to help. Yes, Hellfire's face is more made for 'rawr!' than comforts, so I was pleased I was able to get the expression in the initial sketch. There's a lot of echoes of my studies of classical art in this one, from various 'pieta' images thru to Picasso's 'Guernica' (though I didn't look at any of these specifically, just let them be echoes from memory).
Koko and Quez, being more abstract forms, gave me a bit of pause but I think they worked out. Definitely need to make some more artz of Quez to figure out how he is made.
