i wonder what my drawings tell about myself then ;; ive never taken notice of that fact.
I tend to draw on top of lines over and over again until i get the right shape and after that I'm lazy to erase away those mistakes. Whenever I'm finished with a sketch and it doesn't look right i don't erase it either. i do exactly the same thing, i go over lines like twice or thrice to get the right lines but when it starts to look screwed up i just ignore those lines and move to an empty space or just scribble over my completed drawing which i think looks screwed up. there's nothing wrong with what youre doing.
try and find a way that will boost your confidence then. for me stuff like music and art of better artists helps especially those who are better than me but are of the same age. it may make me feel like shit when looking at their stuff but it also makes me feel like ' hey, if they can do it maybe i can do it too' or 'i'll just have to try harder to match their standards'.
