Name: Tai Lung
From: Kung Fu Panda
Appearance:

Age: 40-45?
Gender: Male

Personality:
Tai Lung is an incredibly focused individual, undeniably gifted. His formative years were spent doing nothing but learning Kung Fu, practicing daily and training as hard as he could to learn every last thing and make his master proud. He grew more and more self-confident and conceited, to the point where his ego began to eclipse his sense--and his master did nothing to help. Tai Lung was told that he would undoubtedly become the Dragon Warrior. That pride, and that promise, were the reasons he was so devastated when he was told he would not be allowed to look at the Dragon Scroll, and the reason he felt so mortally betrayed when his master would not speak up on his behalf.

Now, Tai Lung is cynical, impatient, smug, and volatile. Twenty years in prison did nothing to curb his rage, and if anything only intensified it. The anger seethes just beneath the surface in everything he does, even if it seems he’s just having a light-hearted conversation. His words will be short and to the point, self-centered and condescending. Talking to him would be difficult at best, as he will try to dominate the discussion just like he does with everything else, and you could be sure he’d point out any and all flaws in whoever he’s talking to (though at least he’ll keep that relevant). Since he holds (almost) no one in higher esteem than himself, it is very easy for him to find those flaws.

Now that he knows that the Dragon Scroll was blank, and worthless, Tai Lung is biding his time, which is helping him staying much calmer-even though it might be only temporary. He has yet to understand just what the meaning of the scroll was meant to be, and it still frustrates him. He still searches for opponents he might deem worthy of fighting him, in the vague hope that he might determine the meaning of the scroll through the only thing he really knows, thanks to his master’s failures-Kung Fu.

Backstory: Tai Lung was left on the steps of the Jade Palace as a baby, and was taken in by Master Shifu, who raised him almost as his own son. Tai Lung showed great talent for Kung Fu, and became Shifu's favorite pupil. As a student, Tai Lung was showing such great prowess and skill that he became convinced that some day, he would be given the Dragon Scroll, the secret to limitless power, and Shifu did nothing but encourage him. Convinced that he was to become the Dragon Warrior, the day Tai Lung was denied the scroll by Master Oogway, he snapped. He attacked the village, and tried to take the scroll by force, only to be stopped by Oogway when Shifu found himself unable to fight his most loved student.

For twenty years after that day, Tai Lung was kept in Chorh-gom Prison, where there were one thousand guards…and only him as a prisoner. On the day the true Dragon Warrior was chosen, Tai Lung managed to escape, and charged toward the Jade Palace to again try to take the scroll. On his way, Shifu's new students the Furious Five met him and tried to defeat him, only to fall victim to his nerve attack. The village below was ordered to evacuate, for fear of what he'd do to them on his way through.

He met and fought Shifu in the room of the Jade Palace where the Dragon Scroll was kept, and nearly killed his former master in his rage before the new Dragon Warrior appeared. Tai Lung was more than a little surprised to learn that Po was a big, flabby panda, but found himself with his hands full when he actually tried to fight him for the scroll. The snow leopard actually managed to get his hands on it, and was enraged to find it blank. He couldn't understand what it meant, even when Po tried to explain it. Po ended their fight by using the Wuxi Finger Hold, after Tai Lung found his nerve attack wouldn't work on the panda at all.

Moral Standing: Evil, though leaning eeeeeeever so slowly toward neutral
Dreams: Tai Lung's dream will always be to become the Dragon Warrior, even though Po has been chosen, and he's seen that the scroll has nothing for him; at least, nothing he understands. He also wants to be able to defeat Po some day.
Fears: Tai Lung’s greatest fear is betrayal. Having already suffered the most grievous possible treachery at the hands of his own master, the person he cared about most, Tai Lung is scared that such a thing will happen again. Just the memory of that moment fills him with the most intense emotions he’s ever felt.
Extra: Not…really…? BUT I AM EXCITED.
