I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your uncle.
I don't think your parents understand the relationship you had with him. It's hard for them to imagine that a difficult family member might have always been nice to you.
Ask yourself how you will feel about it later, if you don't go to the funeral. You are the only one who can decide that and the only one who will live with that.

Anyway, ultimately you have to decide what you need to do to feel right about it. Yeah 7 hours is a long drive, but in the grand scheme of things it's not the end of the world if it means it gives you the chance to say your goodbyes in a way you don't feel you could otherwise.
