Studying sucks

You know... sometimes I wish I could win like $5,000 dollars or something to put together my own little computer lab for learning purposes, maybe host my own e-mail server or something. No matter how hard I sit here and try to focus on this studying bullshit almost nothing sticks ( Read more... )

You know, if you weren't into Windows, you could put together a little network for $100 in cheapo 386s. :)

More seriously, I'll give you my old box and you can see if you can ressurect it. It's likely the proc/mobo, but you can pick up replacement parts for a P3 cheap nowadays.

I appreciate the offer but I've got no money or time to spend on it at the moment. Not to mention nowhere to put a 2nd machine right now.

I know you were just poking fun but a network of 386's won't help me get experience with dual CPU or Xeon machines =p

They also wouldn't be capable of running the Microsoft applications that people actually make significant money administering regardless of there being better alternatives... *cough*Exchange*cough*

have you tried a Clockwork Orange style of studying? i'd be happy to prop your eyes open and administer occasional electric shocks to keep you awake.
