There will be no Star Wars spoilers in this post

because I am the only person in North America who has still not seen the movie. And also who does not care, apparently. I have not even seen all of the *other* Star Wars movies. Maybe I should put them into my greencine queue and catch up with the rest of you. I'm just, well, not very interested, though ( Read more... )

Return of the Same Old Sith. I haven't seen it, either. I don't care what anyone says, I'm not willingly dropping another dollar on Lucas after being subjected to those other two execrable prequels. I've seen more entertaining flash. (I'm not saying that in an attempt to be hip, either.)

Of course, that didn't prevent me from already knowing how the movie unfolded and unintentionally dropping a spoiler to someone who's also yet to see it. Whoops.

I like the concept of seeing a band a week. I think I should definitely consider trying something similar, because I'm already starting to get bored. Of course, I have to figure out how to find out what's playing where, and where everything is at for that matter, first.

(So sue me, the 90s were the only time in my life when I had MTV). Yes, I know that's cringe worthy ( ... )

That being said, I'm finding that site to be insanely interesting.

Make sure to check out "Ghetto Tech" under Breakbeat. Fun fact: DJ Assault is available in the iTunes music store. (The writeup for "Dirty South Rap" is amusing, too.)

You claim not to like music with vocals, so that's somewhat limiting.

That's somewhat of a generalization, and not necessarily all that true anymore. I mean, I attended a club's 80s night in Pittsburgh, willingly (eagerly, even -- though I still had to be plied with beer and dragged onto the dancefloor), so I think I'm now able to give such things a bit more leeway. It's just not normally my cup of tea.

There have got to be plenty of clubs with decent DJs, at least though.

Probably. Avalon looks like a promising start; they seem to have a number of brand-name DJs lined up.

Thievery Corp @ the Roxy tonightThis was not to be, though fate kept making me well aware of the fact they were in Boston tonight. It's just as well, I guess; I wasn't in the mood for something that downtempo after eight hours of ( ... )
