They walk in silence for a while, simply enjoying the beautiful day and each other’s company.

“I need to be honest with you too,” Samantha says, breaking the silence. She tucks her hands in her pockets awkwardly, trying to muster up the courage to speak her mind.

As she begins to speak Lindsay interrupts, blurting out that her feelings for the girl far surpass friendship. She admits that she thinks things progressed too quickly, too soon and that she worried they couldn’t take a few steps back and start again.

“I realized it’s all or nothing from here,” she says, expressing her fear of losing their friendship. “And I’ve decided I want it all - all of you.”

They stop walking, realizing they’ve lapped the park several times and not once stopped for something to eat. Samantha stares at Lindsay, her expression evident of how overwhelmed she is by the girl’s unexpected revelation.

“Shit, I’m sorry,” Lindsay says. “I interrupted. What were you going to say?”

Samantha smiles. “What you said, only much shorter.” They both laugh.

“So why all of a sudden?” Samantha asks, sitting down on a nearby wooden park bench. Lindsay joins her, crossing one leg over the other.

“I’ve never had a friend who makes me as happy as you do, no matter what we do. Whether we’re out somewhere or just sitting around doing nothing - with you, I’m always happy. And when you showed up today, I realized I’d hate myself later if I didn’t at least tell you how much I appreciate you.”

Samantha leans back and mimics Lindsay by crossing her leg.

“What about you?” Lindsay asks.

“I’ve felt this way about you for awhile, but I was afraid I’d scare you off even though I knew pretty early on that we weren’t ‘ just friends’. Then today, I saw how convincing you can be when you’re acting and I knew I’d regret it if I didn’t at least find out if you felt the same way.”

Lindsay laughs and blushes.

“Lucky for me you spilled the beans first and I didn’t have to ask,” Samantha says, flashing a cheeky smile.

“The past few weeks we’ve spent together have been amazing.” Lindsay says. “And not just for the obvious reasons. I think we should give it a try.”

They share a meaningful look and smile. Samantha nods, and they continue on their walk.

They stop at a supermarket after deciding a picnic lunch in the park would be the perfect way to spend the rest of their afternoon.

Laughing up and down the aisles, the effortlessness of their friendship returns and mixes with a bit of couple domesticity. It’s obvious they’ve both already gotten used to the idea of spending most of their time together in the future - friends and lovers, both with a profound understanding of each other’s boundaries and expectations - best of both worlds.

After checking out, they head back to the park and buy a picnic blanket from a kind street vendor.

They lie out their things on a soft patch of grass and dig in. They eat and talk without awkward silences full of tension, and enjoy early couple bliss.

Polishing off the last of her sandwich, Lindsay looks up at Samantha, a look on the girl’s face she recognizes. “Are you thinking what I think you’re thinking?” Lindsay asks, a knowing grin on her lips.

Samantha crawls closer to the redhead on the picnic blanket and feigns innocence. “Maybe. Maybe not.”

“Aren’t you worried we’ll get caught?”

Samantha looks around and finds no other picnickers nearby. She smiles slyly and pins Lindsay to the ground.

“A little. But I think the odds are in our favour.”

I was going to make y'all wait and post this later, but evidently I have no patience ha.
You can consider part 17 & 18 one big update, or two little ones - whichever makes you happier :)
Also, I think this is the end - for now. There are only so many ways I can get creative with sexy time.
