but maybe what he means is that he doesn't associate any meaning to the words "i love you" but that it doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't care for you in the same way or as much as you care for him?

sometimes actions speak louder than words, and if he's treating you well and with love...then that's all that matters. if he's an asshole, then you deserve better than that anyway and you'll get over him!!!

if he's already treating you with love and affection, the simple words mean nothing in and of themselves. i would rather someone shower me with love than i can feel than love that i can simply hear. be happy with what you have an let it evolve at a rate which suits itself, not at one which has to be controlled by either one of you.

for the record, I LOVE YOU. hahaha. :)
