In the heat of the night...or day?

Or is it both?  Today is now April 20th.  It's just a day in the month, to me making it "officially" Late April, a Wednesday, Hump Day.

But 4/20?

I swear I'm going to get a secondhand high on my own fucking floor, never mind in Southwest.  If you look carefully, you'll see a large cloud hovering over Upper Central in the late afternoon tomorrow.  I ( Read more... )

hey Paul,it's Stacy from band. Just so you know I don't agree with the boycott or all the screaming stuff either, but the university IS cutting our (the grad students) take home pay next year, which I don't think is fair. That's why, among other things, the grad students are mad. They've tried bargaining with the school for months, but it hasn't worked, so boycott it is I guess. I know, I don't like it either, but I guess they haven't come up with a better idea.
P.S. When are we all going to Charlie's again? :)

yikes, i had no idea you were so opinionated.

agree with you on a couple points, disagree with you on many, but the important thing is that you are voicing what you think is right, and it's refreshing to hear some brutal honesty.

On one point that particularly upset me - I'm not too familiar with VOX, but trust me, the reasons that women should be able to have abortions (and i should note that no one is pro abortion, just pro choice) are deeply rooted in a historic opression and control of women and their bodies. I'd go into my speil right now, but I'm sure you've heard it before, and I'm going to have to respect your religious/moral objections...although it's always painful to me when these opinions are expressed.

And although I don't smoke weed, I'm very much looking forward to my liberal hippiedom in central next year. Coming from my washed up jockdom in southwest.

To each his own.

VOX is about students gathering around and making up reasons why abortion is okay and why everyone should "take control" of their bodies.

I don't think it's so much that they see abortion as being okay as much as they see it as a choice. Sometimes, it's better to not have the child. I mean, if you knew having the baby would literally kill you, would you still have want to have it? And think about what happened to me last year. If I HAD become pregnant, should I have had that child? I don't know if I would have been able to handle that. =\

Good to see you're not holding back tho! Much love, brat.

you know..i'm glad that you have an opinion but a lot of your words upset me...i honestly think you have no idea what you are basing your opinion on. you don't back up any of your points. i disagree with everything you mentioned...EVERYTHING and i am participating in the walkout. one major reason why the GEO is upset is because they are taking away their healthcare and not renewing their contracts to work on campus. that really sucks for them because most of them rely on that payment to live.

also, i think this campus deserves to have groups like ALANA and VOX. these programs have been around since before this administration was around. they just want to keep what they have, they're not asking for anything more. the administration is taking away everything they have.

also, don't get me started on reproductive rights.

anyway...i do appreciate your opinion but i don't appreciate the "liberal bashing" because i'm a strongly liberal person and i don't go around bashing conservatives.

I don't see a hint of "liberal bashing" as you call it, I'm just pointing out the inconsistencies of this particular student body, and Liberals. I'm stating facts, not opinions ( ... )
