Separate Tracks

Yes, yes. I know, you're sick of hearing about my mixes. I'll post about something else soon, but I'm trying to iron out the technical details of this process.

I've finally figured out how to separate the mixes in to individual tracks, so I've created files for that.

Name the tracks with a number so we know what order they go in, eg: "01 - Coburn - We Interrupt This Programme.mp3" Otherwise it turns into a musical puzzle. Fun, but I don't think it helps with getting you feedback in a timely fashion.

I prefer having one big file anyways (which is why I rarely rip mix CDs to mp3... in my mind, a mix is one single composition). I'll create a mix CD with multiple tracks, but I usually have iTunes on random, and I can't stand hearing a track get cut off as it's mixing into another. That, plus few mp3 players do gapless playback very well.

Ha! It just occurred to me that you're probably a smart guy and you probably put track numbers in the id3 tags, which of course you did. So I'll just shut up and listen to the damn thing.... tonight. After I do battle with the ants.

Actually, I anticipated people like you, so I have both versions up. I made separate folders for mixes that are one continuous track, and those that are broken up into individual tracks. Both my mixes are in each. I believe if you follow the link in the first of these mix posts, it will bring you to the general page and you'll see it all there.
