I really resent the fact that a black guy who needs the Metrolink to get from point A to B would vote Republican solely because he doesn't like the idea of gay people getting married.

Before anyone says/thinks anything stupid, I am saying this as a black guy who needs the Metrolink to get from point A to point B.

Yeah. Unless dude is sitting on a fortune I'm not aware of, I don't see what he could possibly gain from voting for McCain aside from being able to materialize his bigotry. I mean, he was pretty explicit in stating that he was a single issue voter.

It means that we're both more than likely not McCain's constituents. I don't want to reduce this to "Republicans don't care about black people who aren't filthy rich", but there's really not a more tactful way to say what I'm trying to say. I realize that I'm almost always speaking from a position of privilege relative to most black men, but I won't let that preclude me from calling out the kind of ignorant thinking displayed by the guy I overheard today.
