absolutely lmfao. I didn't even *know* about ethernet over power until someone moved in to my house and couldn't get a direct line into the router. welllllllll it seems the wireless was too plebian, had to set up the little box thingies and take up ALL my bandwidth streaming 24/7. Am I the only person in the world to find the idea of mixing internet and mains power ...weird...?
Hehe. That just makes me consider two possibilities... I am somehow remembering the exact thing incorrectly, or...
eihernet over power is not an understood thing among people who aren't at a certain level of nerdy workarounds to impossible situations?
This guy literally had clear plastic boxes devoted to every different type of cable, adaptor, plug, interface. I might have lost myself in it too, but it was difficult, we weren't friends I literally was renting my house and room to him o:
Adaptor box, plus in to AC power. Accepts ethernet direct out from router
Router ->CAT5e->adaptor box/ac power socket ]--------------wired household power----------[adaptor box/ac power socket->CaT5e->computer
That was all there was. Can't tell if the adaptors put the ethernet signal into the electrical lines or somehow accessed a layer of shielding on outside the live wires? shrug. Can't believe there isn't a problem with noise in the signal.

The setup for the most part consisted of:
Adaptor box, plus in to AC power. Accepts ethernet direct out from router
Router ->CAT5e->adaptor box/ac power socket ]--------------wired household power----------[adaptor box/ac power socket->CaT5e->computer
That was all there was. Can't tell if the adaptors put the ethernet signal into the electrical lines or somehow accessed a layer of shielding on outside the live wires? shrug. Can't believe there isn't a problem with noise in the signal.
