I  quit UPS today.  I called after convincing myself not to walk out all day (again) and said I had had enough.  I'm pretty ashamed of it.  I don't feel I could handle another two weeks for a proper bow-out.  All part in parcel of being a coward

I've only ever left a job once without giving a two-week notice. I was at the end of my rope, and I could not physically bring myself to walk back into the office. I was upset about it at the time, but looking back I realize that I definitely did the right thing.

It's good that you knew you were done, and went ahead and left. Sometimes getting that "proper bow-out" is not worth whatever you have to endure to get that.

i say congratulations, too. you can't ruin your life over UPS. there are so many more important things in life to live for than a job you hate.
