Tomorrow's my last First Day of School. Where has my life gone?

My laptop is nearly completely fried and now I have to get a one in the near future. However, I've been seriously debating the last week or so whether or not I should buy an HP now or save up a little longer and buy a Mac and I can't figure out which way I should go. Any suggestions

I got a Sony Vaio. No use renewing my warranty when I'm 2 hours from the Help Desk. The Vaio is awesome.

It really depends what you need it for. I want a mac (but can't afford one) because I want to edit Video and do work with adobe after effects, photoshop, etc. For that kind of stuff, Macs are far and away above the competition.

But if you just want it for more consumer uses...watching movies, surfing the net, word processing, etc...HPs are GREAT sturdy computers and I'd absolute recommend one. And I have a soni vaio desktop so I can't speak to the laptop like Sarah can, but I love the desktop and I've never heard a bad thing about their products...

MAC!
i loveeeee my mac. i had one for 4 years and its still running PERFECTLY. the only reason i bought a new one is because i ran out of space. so my parents have my old one and its just like new now that i took all (4000) of my pictures and itunes (12,000 songs) off.
mac all the way :-)
