Embroidery Sewing Machines

Jinyo- what kind of embroidery sewing machine do you have?  Do you (or anyone else for that matter) know the difference between machines that have a built in computer and ones that are USB compatable?  I kinda want to buy an embroidery machine one of these days, but I don't know if the $500 ones that don't have a computer built in are any good.

I would guess that the ones with a USB port allow you (with use of a computer program) to import your own designs into the embroidery machine, whereas one that has a computer already built in is limited to the designs they have.

Then again, I might be wrong.

Then again, I'm too poor to afford one XD;;;

Gee, only 500? I thought they were a lot more... maybe I will be able to get one sooner than I thought. :) Let me know what you find.

I spent about $1000 on my embroidery setup. More than that, actually, but I stopped counting at $1000, out of embarrassment. I have the Singer Futura CE-100, which has a USB cable that you plug into a computer. This allows you to use the computer to control the Embroidery machine. Without the computer, it's just a sewing machine. The machine itself cost $500, and I got it because it was the lowest-cost machine that could do what I wanted. The cost is lower because it doesn'e need a computer brain to control the embroidery, that's what your computer is for. Non-USB embroidery machines often have a variety of functions and LCD screens that allow you to adjust designs ( ... )
