decaffeinating the soul

Best of luck kicking the coffee habit! I'd like to do the same. Currently I drink about 2-3 cups of coffee a day. Then I can't fall asleep at night, which means I need coffee to stay awake the next morning, so it's a vicious cycle. As you said, just because caffeine is legal doesn't mean it's not habit-forming and bad for ya.

that's not a lot of coffee compared to what some people drink.. i don't drink coffee, though. i have never really cared for it. when i do drink coffee, i load it down with sugar to hide the blandness.

iced tea is what's my achilles heel. see, i'm a southern boy and i was practically force-fed iced tea (of the most sugary kind) since i popped outta my mama's womb.. so giving up sweet tea is the hardest thing. and diet iced tea is just NOT the same. been there. done that.

but i'll do fine on bottled water.. i'm getting used to it.. i think after a week i should be coming out of caffeine withdrawal and hopefully see significant improvement in how i feel.
