I don't like...

I work in an office full of women. It's called the sales department. So my boss was in a bitchy mood all day long, and anytime I said anything at all to her, or asked her a question on things that I REALLY needed an answer on, she would snap at me. I asked her if there was something I had done to piss her off, and she goes "I just hate all men ( Read more... )

I've had a man, in the work place, say : "I hate all women cause my girlfriend broke up with me or my wife is divorcing me". I see it as a flippant remark and an honest indication of mood rather than a personal attack. I suspect people in professional environments need to temper their emotions at work as much as possible so as to not be just wacky rude to others!

i agree with you...but it is not feminism, it is just stupid, inconsiderate people. they'll use any excuse to show off their asshole qualities.

ps. good to fucking hear from you. I thought you were dead!

This one particular incident may not resemble feminism, but it has some feministic undulations beneath. There is a feministic aura that lingers in that office, and I think when any group of women comes together anywhere, they may not consciously realize it, but will casually and collectively disrespect men as a whole. It only needs to start with one person, then it becomes a chain reaction of reasons why men are inferior.

i guess I'd just call that a pack of man-hating bitches! i'm for diversity in the workplace---not too many men, not too many women, diff ages, races, it tends to keep things civilized! once people think there is no one around to take offense at their BS, they start letting it all hang out...

You are so right! What if she had said she hated all disabled people or black people? What she said and the attitude behind it is just as bad.

P.S. How is your biking doing? I have started walking again and am up to 9 miles now.

Woah! 9 miles! So, where are you hiking, or are you walking only? My biking is going fine. I ride my bike between 500 and 600 miles a month. I'm doing a 100k metric (63 miles) this Saturday, and am looking forward to it. About 300 riders show up to this event. It will be hot, though Supposed to get up to about 95 degrees with heat index at 100 or above. It will be tough. I will just have to gulp down lots of water and drink lots of Gatorade to replenish my electrolytes lost through, what is sure to be, a very SWEATY ride.

Yes, it is getting hot here for walking too. I am lucky because I walk a paved path at a nice shady park in the woods and surrounded by a creek. There's a total of 10 1/2 miles of track in the park, and it links to something like 50 miles of other paved trails, but most of those are by roadsides in the sun. Nine miles is about all I want to walk at once. Later in the summer when I go camping, I will begin hiking. I'll have to drop back in distance because the trails will be unpaved and have steep inclines and declines.
