You've been doing a lot of thinking, haven't you? Well here's my thoughts: It's not the word but the meaning behind the word. For example: when one says "nigger", it hurts because of it's meaning and not so much the word. Which is why most black people have taken to calling each other "nigga" which can mean anything from fool to friend. But sometimes when white people say it, they forget to drop the -er and replace it with an a. When people hear this it takes them back to the 50's and such. It offends them. and it hurts

I didn't write this, someone sent it to me. I still don't understand why other races have the right to call white people names, and it's ok, but when it's the white people calling another ethnicity something, they get asshurt about it. Well, I wouldn't say ok, but it's accepted in our society.
Good point Mandy. I think that too little people stand up for their rights nowadays. If someone calls someone else a cracker, they shouldn't just shut up and take it. They should be like "Hey, it's not cool to say that stuff, so knock it off." It might not seem like much, but it's a start right?
Amen!!! i totally agree with you babe! i'm just afraid to say it bc i dont wanna get beat up haha but you rock and took the words right out of my mouth! *and i'm half yellow* heehee ttyl! <3 Shannon
