Just returned from a luuuurvely vacation of 10 days, the first since I got the new job in September. I celebrated (celebrate a vacation? Happy life with the machines, scattered around the room
I picked up a new computer system last week (first new computer since before I left for Humboldt) and spent half the weekend assembling it. While I've replaced a ton of computer hardware in my time, this was the first computer I'd ever put together from scratch right down to figuring out how many of the cords I got with the power supply were ( Read more... ) -

I've made the unfortunate mistake of going back through all of my old LJ entries, tagging and reminiscing. I'm currently about halfway through the year 2002. I learned a few things about my 2002 self:
I hated my job, even though I insisted several times that I didn't.
I was more than a little bit obnoxious to certain people online.

So you may or may not know that I've watched a few episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and enjoyed them, although I sometimes have trouble seeing what the big deal is.

I ATEN'T DEAD
There's a story in my head. I have been trying to coax it out.
I have been thinking for a while that the next extracurricular learning experience for me to dive into should be writing fiction. Sometimes I think the only way I'll ever get to illustrate the story I want is if I write it myself.

Life is good.
I'm loving the new job. It's challenging and rewarding; what more could one ask for? It also appears that the new job likes me, as the director assures me I'm doing a great job even in the midst of the mistakes I've made. The commute isn't even bad when you consider that I don't have to drive it-an hour's bus ride becomes an extra hour ( Read more... ) -
