governor's cup 2kSIXXXXXX.

okay i'm gonna try to get these in as best of chronological order as possible.

that's me and dad at the rules meeting friday night. we got our number, which was 11. i was psyched because both dad and my birthday is 6/11.

that's vern and randy at the rules meeting. they weren't happy about getting a middle number (we take off in the morning in order, and then the 2nd day it's switched).

that's me, bright and early on saturday morning, although it wasn't all that bright out yet.

dad and me getting the minnows in their tanks.

there's vern saturday morning waiting for randy to park his pick up and trailer.

that's all the boats in the bay waiting for the take off to start. i said to dad, "it's been a long time since i've seen the sunrise from this side of the morning." haha

aaaand we're off!

after 8 hours on the water, we returned with only two fish (we could have up to 8).

there's dad taking off to zip over to cow creek for mom to pick him up.

they had these cart things to bring you up the boat ramp to the weigh-in station...

...so that's why i'm sitting next to some guy i don't know, with my bag of fish. haha megan.

okay, so mom likes to point out the two boys (the one leftmost in the picture and the one rightmost) in this one...

...and then make note of how 2 seconds later, they are right behind me, looking at my ass. haha

there's randy with a near miss onto the dock. they had a bit more fish than we did. haha

so they had this photographer guy taking pictures of everyone (he took like 20 of me), and i like to think that paul is saying "stop taking my picture, you friggin creep."

so then this was our weigh-in score for the first day. not so great.

sunday morning, we were right back out on the water by 7 a.m.

how'd we do the second day? even worse. uno fisho smallo. sorry, i'm tired. we ended up ranking like 80-somethingth overall, and i don't know how we did the in father-son/daughter division, but not good haha.

dave and paul ended up 3rd in the father-son, so there's sean announcing that. they won moving goose decoys. funnn haha.

last but not least, creepy photographer insisted on taking a close up of me. i think i look horrible, but everyone's telling me it looks good. whatevs. oh, and i just looked and found out that on creepster's website of the pics, he chose this one for the thumbnail to click for sunday's pics. :-/

i have more pictures that i took with a disposable, but it's not run out yet. so when i get those developed, i'll put them up maybe. but you're all probably sick of this, if you're even still reading it now. haha yikes.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that on saturday, pierre had the highest temperature in the entire country, ranking in at 117 degrees. ay carumba. sunday wasn't as bad, but still well over 100. but i survived!! we didn't do well at alllll, barely caught fish, spent 8 straight hours each day in the boat, and now we have nothing to show for it. but in the end, it was a great weekend i think. i also forgot to mention that i was the only girl in the tournament. there were adult ladies, but i was the only daughter in the father-son/daughter, and i still hold the record for first and only girl in the father-son/daughter, which i set the last time i fished the gov cup in 2003. i'm the reason why it's "son/daughter" and not just "son" like it used to be. haha i win at life. hahaha okay i'm tired so i'm gonna quit this. thank you for looking at my pictures and reading my nonsense chatting here at the end. ;)
