They're good kids, and it is a heavy, undeserved burden. I am sorry you felt that. I love the uplifting tone that wraps up your entry.

It's so good to see you've finally come to terms with this, not just that you are able to be at peace with your circumstances without having to keep them a secret, but that they have even been a tool in your life which you have put to good use. There is not just a powerful development there, but a kind of healing, too, that it seems you are paying forward... and bless you, for putting everything you have in your arsenal against the hurting of others.

Very well written. I never thought about all of the explanations and, in the past, white lies involved.

But if it has taken me so long, how many other people have felt alone like me? How many others are keeping their secrets like the proverbial skeleton in the closet afraid of it jumping out and scaring people? If by telling my story, and his, helps one person feel more comfortable with their past and helps them come to terms with their parent’s actions and behaviors, if it makes one person feel less alone, then I’ve achieved my goal.
