For once my laziness pays off! I've been putting off finshing my garden (like, actually planting anything) and it looks like I might be better off for it. I finally finished hand-tilling the soil on Saturday, and put about 8 bags of manure into the red clay that Tennesseeans call "dirt". I got the manure and sand from Walmart, and I loaded it up while Amanda was doing some other shopping. When I had it all loaded and went to find Amanda, she was trying on some clothes, and I had to rush her out of the store because the manure was stinking up my car. I cracked the windows so it wasn't that bad, but if it hadn't been a really cold day, it could have been a lot worse. We're ready to plant as soon as we get back from Mexico

glad to hear you're gardening...i always thought that i didn't inherit my mom's green thumb...but i guess i did, i just had to search a little to find it...i'm way more into vegetables and lisa is more into ornamentals...she takes care of the flowers and i take care of the veggies...we're doing everything organic...even insect control...i had a lot of ants around the house and i made up my own brew that seems to have worked...like so

i think it's cold to make up for those days in january when it was like april. it's really annoying me to have to pull in my pots of various herbs and cover them and then forget to put them back out in the morning.

And I froze this morning. It was so cold I woke up with three cats under my sheets.
