And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
The tangled soundtrack was blasting from the cd player and Lindsay was dancing around the kitchen, collecting all the ingredients she would need for the cupcakes she was planning to make.
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you
She couldn’t seem to wipe the smile off of her face, today was a great day. She had always loved Valentine’s Day, even though over the last years she didn´t have the chance to spend it with someone special, but this year was different. Her smile only got brighter when she thought of Marissa. They had been dating for about 3 months now and Lindsay had never felt happier in her life, not even when Ryan had announced that she would get a 2 episode arc on Glee.
Work was important and it satisfied her, but Marissa was the only thing that made her truly happy. She usually made brownies for her friends on this day, but this year she could actually make something special for her girlfriend.
Lindsay smiled again and opened her mouth to sing along to Flynn´s part, but suddenly a different voice sounded through the air.
All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in the blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Lindsay turned around just to find her girlfriend leaning against the door frame, smiling brightly at her.
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here suddenly I know
If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go
What are you doing here? Lindsay mouthed a little confused, but still not able to hide her smile. Marissa was supposed to be at work until tonight, that´s why Lindsay had planned to surprise her with cupcakes.
“I thought I would surprise you.” Marissa smiled and walked over to Lindsay, wrapping her arms around her waist to pull her closer.
Lindsay let out a laugh and leaned in for a kiss. This was perfect, Marissa was what had been missing in her life all this time. She had just appeared and swept Lindsay off her feet without even knowing it.
“Also, you´re the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.” Marissa was grinning and Lindsay felt herself blush. How long had Marissa been standing in the door way?
She wanted to ask, but then she decided against it and leaned forward to kiss the other girl instead.
“Happy Valentine´s Day love.”
