Summary: How far would you be willing to go to protect your best friend from a diabolical evil genius named Kyuhyun? Would you be willing to pretend to be in love with them? Would you be willing to break up their recently started romance with someone they claimed is their soul mate? Donghae has a choice, break up Eunhyuk and Sungmin or watch as Kyuhyun destroys Eunhyuk’s life.
“Your best friend is going to die!” Kyuhyun said in a menacing way as he glared daggers at the unknowing Eunhyuk.
“Eh?” Donghae asked and he shuddered at the evil aura emitting from Kyuhyun “w-what did E-Eunhyuk do?” he asked fearing for his best friends life, Kyuhyun was dangerous.
“That bastard asked out Sungmin” Kyuhyun said, eyes never leaving Eunhyuk who was oblivious towards the death threats Kyuhyun was trying to send mentally.
Donghae glanced at his friend who was busy shoving food down his throat a few tables in front of them. He let out a sigh, Eunhyuk was a dead man.
Kyuhyun has been in love with Sungmin from the first moment they entered High School. Being in the grade lower Kyuhyun had literally zero classes with the cute boy, but that didn’t stop him from falling head over heels in love. Kyuhyun tried everything to get the boys attention but Sungmin just didn’t seem interested.
Eunhyuk was Donghae’s neighbor and in the same grade as Sungmin. Donghae had always followed the older boy around; they quickly became best friends-because Donghae refused for it to be any other way.
Donghae and Kyuhyun were in the grade under Sungmin and Eunhyuk. It was their first year of high school and while Kyuhyun chose to spend his high school years chasing after Sungmin, Donghae had chosen to spend his time chasing a ball on the soccer field.
“I’ll kill him” Kyuhyun threatened low enough that only Donghae could hear.
“M-Maybe it was a joke” Donghae tried to defend Eunhyuk
“And maybe that idiot will flunk out of High School” Kyuhyun said with a sadistic smile on his face that made Donghae go pale “Or maybe they will find contraband in his locker” Kyuhyun’s smile shifted into a satisfied one and Donghae suddenly got the feeling that Kyuhyun might actually be the devil.
“Or maybe we could just break them up” Donghae tried to reason with his insane friend.
Kyuhyun turned to Donghae with a smile on his face, a smile that had Donghae cowering in his seat.
“That is a great idea” Kyuhyun said and Donghae smiled weakly at him, he could see the cogs turning in Kyuhyun’s brain and he feared the outcome. Kyuhyun’s plans were always…well for lack of a better word; diabolical.
“I’ve got it” Kyuhyun said pointing his finger in the air for dramatic affect-it worked because Donghae was now very interested in his friends plan “you will confess your love towards Eunhyuk” Kyuhyun stated coolly.
“WHAT!” Donghae yelled standing up and knocking his tray of food over. The whole cafeteria was staring at the pair because of the sudden outburst, even Eunhyuk and Sungmin had stopped eating to glance at the younger boys.
Kyuhyun pulled Donghae’s wrist forcing him back into his chair “Be quiet, you’re making a scene” he hissed
“How can I be quiet when you say things like that” Donghae tried to whisper but it came out rather loud.
“Quiet” Kyuhyun shushed the slightly older boy “Just confess to Eunhyuk and then he will break up with Sungmin because he…” Kyuhyun started to say but got cut off by Donghae, who was considerably quieter this time around.
“But I don’t love Eunhyuk” he said
“I know that” Kyuhyun stated like the older boy was a moron, well in his mind he kind of was.
“B-But if I confess to Eunhyuk it will ruin our friendship” Donghae pouted, he loved Kyuhyun-in a totally platonic way-but the younger boy was a complete psychopath. Falsely confessing to Eunhyuk would ruin everything, what if Eunhyuk thought it was gross and never wanted to speak to him again?
“I can’t do that” Donghae decided, risking losing his friendship with Eunhyuk was just something he wasn’t willing to do.
“Fine” Kyuhyun said “then I’ll just have to get him kicked out of this school so he can’t be anywhere near Sungmin”
Donghae thought about it, if Eunhyuk got kicked out then his future would be ruined. All his plans and dreams would be compromised just because of one silly little crush he had. Sungmin wasn’t worth losing his aspirations for.
“Fine” Donghae stated after thinking it through “I’ll confess to Eunhyuk. Just promise me you want do anything to him”
Kyuhyun rolled his but agreed anyways “I promise I won’t do anything to him”
“Good” Donghae said shaking Kyuhyun’s hand “But…even if I confess to Eunhyuk it doesn’t mean he is going to accept my ‘love’” Donghae said making air quotes around the word love “and it doesn’t mean you’ll end up with Sungmin”
Kyuhyun’s smile dropped at the mention of flaws in his plan and then he went silent for a minute
“Then we’ll just have to make them fall in love with us” he said, his smile returning to his face
“How?” Donghae questioned “Eunhyuk doesn’t like me like that, and you’ve failed at getting Sungmin’s attention…” he trailed off when he saw the glare he was receiving from his menacing friend “Uhh…I mean…you have a plan right?”
“Of course I do my stupid little friend” Kyuhyun said and Donghae would have protested about being call stupid but he thought it better not to argue with the maniac.
“What is it?” Donghae asked in a monotone voice. Anyone who glanced at the pair would notice the switch in personalities; the usually happy Donghae was now sporting a depressed look while the usually ominous Kyuhyun was a bubbly mess.
“I’m going to get my ass kicked” Kyuhyun stated simply and Donghae’s jaw dropped
“EH?” he yelled causing everyone to look at them again
“Donghae be quiet” Kyuhyun shushed
“Sorry” Donghae apologized “but how is getting beat up going to get Sungmin to fall in love with you?”
“Sungmin’s into all that martial arts crap and he won’t turn down helping his defenseless younger class mate” Kyuhyun said with an accomplished smile, it was like he had already won or something.
“That’s good for you” Donghae said “but how does that solve my problem” that you have totally caused he added mentally
“Join the dance club, take interest in his hobbies…act cute around him, I don’t care. Just make sure he breaks up with Sungmin” Kyuhyun said nonchalantly
“Why can’t you just make Sungmin break up with Eunhyuk? Why do I even have to help you?” Donghae asked. If Sungmin would fall in love with Kyuhyun then he wouldn’t have to falsely confess to Eunhyuk, it was perfect, all they had to do was get Sungmin to fall in love with Kyuhyun.
“I don’t want Sungmin to feel guilty about loving me” Kyuhyun said like it was the most inconceivable idea ever mentioned.
“So you want him to be sad so you can comfort him” Donghae deadpanned
“Exactly” Kyuhyun said smiling at his not so stupid friend.
“What have I gotten myself into?” Donghae said letting his head hit the table
“Welcome to the evil side my friend” Kyuhyun said slapping Donghae’s back.
Donghae groaned, not bothering to lift his head from the table all he could think about was how he never managed to make friends with any normal people.
