Summary: Before the date.
The week went by slowly, everyday that passed seemed to last an eternity. It couldn’t be helped; I was too excited about the double date this weekend. Every time I thought about it I would get all giddy, and start jumping around the house, this went down about as well as peanut butter on cheese. After the 7th ass kicking I received from Sungmin, and the millionth talk I had with Leetuek about proper inside behavior, I decided it was probably best if I contained my enthusiasm, only to be let out when I was completely alone, or with Yesung, for some strange reason it didn’t bother him.
At midweek, I decided, or more like was forced by Ryeowook, to inform Yesung about the double date. I had to do it alone, Ryeowook refused to be there, claiming he was busy, yeah right like I’d fall for that. When I got home to find Yesung alone, I decided it was probably the best time to do it.
“Yesung?” I asked.
“Yeah Hyuk” he said.
“Can I talk to you” I said “it’s kind of important” which was probably a bad choice of words because it set Yesung off.
“Of course you can tell me anything. Wait. Is something wrong with Ryeowook? You just got back from his house, right? What happened? Tell me. NOW” Yesung was flipping out.
“What? No Ryeowook is fine. God why do you always think something is wrong with him, you’re very overprotective aren’t you” I said, it actually was a good thing, at least I knew Ryeowook would always be taken care of by this turtle loving freak.
“Oh thank God” he sighed in relief “and I’m not overprotective” he defended. I could only laugh at that.
“Yeah let’s pretend that's true. But I really need to ask you something” I said, it was time to get down to business.
“Ok, ask away” Yesung said.
“How do you feel about Ryeowook?” I know it was blunt but I had to ask, Ryeowook needed to know if it was unrequited love, or if Yesung was really that oblivious.
“R…Ryeowook? I ah…W…Why do you ask?” he stuttered.
I sighed “because Ryeowook’s madly in love with you, and I’m pretty sure you feel the same way, but you’re both too shy to do anything about it” okay I know it wasn’t what Ryeowook and I planned, but it was starting to piss me off how these two were not together yet. My emotions must be really out of whack recently, because normally I wouldn’t even want to know what was going on between them; it was because of Donghae that I wanted everyone to be happy and in love.
Yesung was stunned; he probably wasn’t expecting me to be so blunt. It took a good few minutes before he recovered “Ryeowook and I are…friends” he said slowly and quietly like not wanting to hear those words, even if he was the one saying them.
“Yeah but both of you want to be more. Don’t you?” I knew Ryeowook did, that’s all he ever talked about, but I wasn’t really sure about Yesung. He never really talked about it, but it was blatantly obvious in the way he treated Ryeowook.
“I ahh…I…you’d be okay with that?” he asked.
“Yeah. I mean you treat him better than anyone else could, and I know you wouldn’t hurt him. So I guess I’d be fine with it.” I said honestly, I hadn’t really thought that Yesung would think about my feelings about them dating. Then it hit me “Wait. You didn’t ask Ryeowook out because you didn’t know how I would handle it?” I asked.
“Well yeah. I value our friendship, Ryeowook is your cousin and I wouldn’t want things to be weird between us” he said, Yesung really was a better person than me, I mean I used Ryeowook’s love for Yesung just to get a date with Donghae; at that moment I finally realized why Ryeowook fell in love with Yesung. But that thought didn’t last long when I realized something.
“RYEOWOOK IS GOING TO KILL ME” I yell.
“Why would he do that?” Yesung questioned.
“Because it’s my fault you didn’t ask him out” if Ryeowook find out that I’m the reason he’s not with Yesung, he’s going to kill me and throw my body off a bridge to rot somewhere. I’m so dead.
“If it makes you feel any better, you’re not the only reason I didn’t ask him out”
“Really?” I ask hopeful. Maybe I could convince him to never tell Ryeowook about this.
“Yeah, I wasn’t sure how he felt about me” he admitted.
“Are you kidding me?” I ask, Yesung must be blind “Ryeowook’s been all over you like crazy on Leetuek” I say.
“Yeah but I think he just thinks of me as a friend” he says sadly.
“Ryeowook hasn’t thought of you as a ‘friend’ ever” I reveal.
“What?”
“He’s been in love with you from the first time he laid eyes on you”
“Really?” Yesung asks hopeful.
“DUH. You really haven’t noticed”
“No” he says “you mean I could have been with him this whole time?” he says depressed.
“Yes” is said, and I notice that look Yesung has, like he’s going to go leave to find Ryeowook, so I quickly add “but now that I’ve fixed your love life, I need your help to fix mine.”
That must have sparked his interest, because he no longer looked like he was going to leave, and asked “your love life?”
“Yeah, I fell in love with this kid from Wookie’s school, and the only way I could get a date with him is if I got a date for Ryeowook”
“EHH. Who is Wookie going on a date with?” Yesung asks baffled.
“You, You idiot” I say.
“Really?”
“Yes. We are going on a double date this Saturday, will you come? PLEEEAAAASE” I beg with puppy-dog eyes and pouty lip.
“Yes” he says ecstatic “but quit doing that, it’s freaking me out” he adds.
So the rest of the night we talk animatedly about the date, and how we were going to make it super special for both of our love interests. Yesung decided he was going to wait to confess to Ryeowook on the date, I agreed to keep it a secret from him; I felt jealous, Yesung and Ryeowook would undoubtedly become a couple this Saturday, while I would have to wait before I could claim Donghae mine.
Needless to say the remainder of the week was spent with both me and Yesung happily giggling like school girls every chance we could. It got so bad; at one point even Sungmin said it was too much. So when Saturday finally came, it would be an understatement to say Leetuek and Sungmin were thrilled; they didn’t have to deal with us being overly happy anymore, but they did have to deal with us being frantic.
“OMG, I LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT” I yelled in a panic.
‘You, look at me, whose face is this?” Yesung asked.
“Calm down, you two look very handsome” Leetuek tried to calm us down.
“How can you say that? Are you even looking at me?” I said accusingly.
“Seriously Hyung, are you trying to make me cry, how can you lie to me like that, I thought we were friends” Yesung says on the verge of tears, which made my eyes tear up as well.
“Yeah you’re so mean” I add, yeah we were an emotional wreak.
“What the hell’s the matter with you two” Kyuhyun says, him being here wasn’t actually helping my nerves any.
“Kyu, be nice. And you guys look hot” Sungmin says, to which Kyuhyun looks like he going to murder Yesung and me, and I contemplated letting him do it. Sungmin must have noticed this because he added “but not as hot as Kyuhyun” which made said boy smile and grab Sungmin from behind.
“It’s just a date. Why are you guys so nervous?” Kyuhyun asks while kissing Sungmin’s neck still holding onto him from behind.
“It’s not just a date. It’s a matter of life and death. If it goes badly we’ll die, just drop dead from heartbreak” Yesung says; truer words were never spoken.
“You’re so cute Sungie, Ryeowook will definitely accept your love, and I don’t really know this Donghae but I know no one could resist you Hyukie” Sungmin says, and Kyuhyun looks pissed.
“Stop flirting with them, and come with me” Kyuhyun says as he drags Sungmin away after shooting death glares at us.
“SUNGIE AND HYUKIE HWAITING!!!” I hear Sungmin yell from the hall way.
“God those two are going to be so loud, maybe I should go on a date myself” Leetuek says to no one in particular “But seriously you two, calm down, you look great” he adds.
After noises started coming from Sungmin’s room we decided it was probably time to go pick up our dates. Giving ourselves one last check, Yesung grabbed his keys and we headed to his car to go pick up Ryeowook and Donghae at Ryeowook’s house.
