More Vacation...

Part two of the vacation saga.

Friday

On this day we went to Xcaret, a sort of amusement park. We went swimming in an underground river that was over 1,000 feet long and it was so cold. After about the first 900 feet we were tired so we had to drag ourselves on some rope that was built into the cave. We saw an aquarium and went to the beach. Now, I'm not the best swimmer, even if I am using an intertube to paddle around so when my cousin asked to go see the dolphin pool I should have said...NO. I paddled only a feet out and the current was already taking us out to sea and I started to signal back to my aunt to come get my cousin and I. I paddled as hard as I could to get back to the beach and it was then that I realized that the water was about 4 feet deep where I was paddling...it was the Jetlag! Then we saw the Xcaret night show, complete with singing, dancing, and men dressed up in Mayan costume. They played that game that was like basketball and it was odd to see after the show, a man in a giant head dress and loincloth selling CD's.

Saturday

We all ventured out to the crazy streets of Cancun and went to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. The best part of the evening was when I was talking to my cousin and she was drinking a bottle of 7up and I asked her who wanted dessert and she spilled the drink all over herself. Poor girl.

Sunday

This day we went out the Chichen Itza, the capital city of the Mayan empire. It was so hot there and in another brilliant plan we climbed the pyramid. Hmmm, 90 stairs in 100 degree weather...not a good combination. Anyway, there was supposed to be these pictures inside of the pyramid of a Jaguar with Jade incrusted in it, so we decided to climb inside. Now, this staricase was about as wide as only one person and it was so humid that the walls were sweating. With about 20 people climbing at the same time, it starts to smell kinda funky. It's dark, and we finally reach the top and what do we find... a 7 foot space with a bench in the shape of a jaguar behind medal bars....nice.
