I dont think I'd watch I, Robot, because I loved the book so much. It ahd all those cool, short sci-fi stories that I enjoy the most.
The movie seems like most current typical action-oriented sci-fi that annoys me. The movies involve too much running and not enough talking.
In one of the stories, they had a bunch of robots on a space ship to do some routine, repetitive job. After a while, these robots had actually created a religion, and started following a God. It didnt have any action scenes, no cult threat. Just a simple result that makes for interesting thinking.
Plus, I also loved the album I, Robot (by an 80s prog-rock band called Alan Parson's Project), so I dont want to spoil it.
i love asimov, and i know what you mean, it was like that and i didn't want to go see it, but it was good. i'm not impressed by flashiness and action and emotionally loaded threats to the future of mankind. it is a horribly flawed film, but i found plenty to enjoy in it.
i really must get that book - i can spend some vouchers unstupidly for a change...
