Notice how he refers to the G8 leaders as "people" and how it's important for "people" to experience this all together and 500 miles from where the attacks happened. It's as if somehow the G8 leaders are more important than the people of London.

It's also interesting how he talks about the "Western world's advantage", when the G8 includes Russia and Japan.

I remember in 8th grade we would get talking about the problems of the world and decide the only way to solve it was to colonize another planet only with smart people, and then the teacher would point out that's what Hitler wanted to do. We gave up after that.

the first generation born in the country for smart people would be of average intelligence, and they'd ruin everything. after 50 years, it would be a country for regular people and their angry know-it-all elderly parents.

Doing something about the deaths of millions in a country where money from the western world could effect enormous change VERSUS having a very important meeting about public transportation systems, which we can never, ever make secure enough to stop one person with a bomb in their backpack. Hmm!
