love is real but being in love doesn't always last.

and it's no one's fault, y'know, people change, things change.

and deep down you still care for that person, it doesn't mean you have romantic feelings for them, but you care and that's the love that is still there.

Romance doesn't dictate love, it's being IN LOVE, which changes sometimes.
