Charles/Erik closeted small town BIG ASS PROMPTqueen_subtleSeptember 17 2011, 07:22:05 UTC
So Charles grows up in a very conservative small town, where he's struggling with being a homosexual. He is embarassed by it, and thinks he's the only one. Cue the angry farmer's son Erik, one of the most popular kids at school, star football player or some other stereotypical douche position. Charles is envious of him because he seems to have the perfect life and he is what Charles wishes he could be--manly manly. So he can never figure out why he's so angry. And why he seems to hate him. He develops a crush he tries to hide, but eventually the two get alone and Erik takes in totally hot angry man shmex.(Um, I want them to be seniors so they don't have to be underage, but if you choose not to, whatevs) Charles' feelings only grow stronger, but Erik hates being this way and denies his attraction towards him, all the time repeatedly using him for angry sex. Charles of course, is stressed out by this and eventually wants to leave him, but although Erik is in the closet, is growing increasingly possessive. Whether or not Erik finds out

Charles is quick to shut off the tinny sound of his alarm. For the past nine years he has learned to be a light sleeper. There is no interim before he's already alert, a seamless and instant shift from dreams to reality. He dresses, gathers his books, and goes downstairs into the kitchen. Sharon is already there. She hates cooking and sometimes seems at a loss as to what she should be doing. Today her back is to Charles as she makes coffee and he makes toast. They move silently around each other and Sharon won't meet his gaze, though it has long ago went beyond a point of being awkward.
The floorboards creak overhead, heralding Kurt's progress into the bathroom. As soon as the toast pops Charles grabs it and heads outside onto the porch. He balances his books in the crook of his arm and measures against his mental clock as he eats his breakfast. His attention is jostled only when Erik gets into his own car and Charles flushes with the memory of yesterday.
This won't do. He can't afford to slip up any further with Erik. How much do

Charles unfairly wishes, sometimes, that he felt for Moira what he feels for Erik - even if it weren't to be requited, he wouldn't have to be so careful. He keeps her at a distance because he can't. Appetite suddenly gone, he smiles vaguely at her and rises. “I'm going to step outside for a bit. I'll see you later,” he says and quickly retreats, tossing what's left of his lunch on his way out to the smoking patio
