I promise I'm gonna stop spamming the meme after this one.
I would really like to read some totally ridiculous fluff involving Charles and small kittens. Preferably set in movie canon (maybe he's wandering the grounds and finds an abandoned litter) but really, I'll take any setting author feels inspired to write. Just not the sort where someone gets transformed into a kitten. Just some real, natural kittens, the more the better, climbing all over Charles, staggering around on their tiny, fluffy legs, clinging to Charles's cardigans, licking and gnawing on his fingers, pressing their pink little kitten-noses into his skin and basically monopolising his attention.
If you'd like to include Erik being torn between annoyance and how cursedly adorable Charles is cooing over a pile of mewling fluff-balls, I would not be opposed.

Charles's anger and Erik's instantly on board and of course one of them is Trouble! What a lovely mix of heart-breaking and heart-warming, poor baby kittens :(((

You said nonlethal, right? That means that one of the kittens didn't actually die from hypothermia, right? Charles just thought that one might have?
Sorry to be all pushy there - I just desperately wanted reassurance that the fictitious kitten didn't die. Good Lord, I hate that people can be such callous jerks to helpless animals. And other people.
But...I like that Charles helps kittens? And I like how adorable and tiny they are and how the active kitten pees on Erik's hand. Aww!

Charles feels certain the kitten can manage a half an our on a sofa without detailed surveillance, but he's had his eyes closed for less than a minute when something is fiddling at his side. He cracks his eyes open to watch as Peanut scrabbles up towards his stomach, her tiny claws getting tangled in Charles's wool cardigan as she valiantly climbs up Charles's side. Once she's there, her kitten weight is barely noticeable on Charles's tummy and she wanders about for a second, befuddled by the steady rise-and-fall of Charles's breathing. Eventually she finds the courage to approach Charles's face, and Charles smiles gently as the kitten streches her neck to nose at his chin, sniffing around his throat until she seems satisfied that he really is their safe and familiar cat-daddy. Then she seems to find the warmest spot on Charles's chest, somewhere around his steadily beating heart, and curls up in a tight furry grey heap, closing her eyes as though her lids are made of lead. Charles brings his hand up to pet her downy fur gently with

Charles watches Erik and reaches out to touch his cheek with his fingertips. Erik's a different man these days, softer in many ways, most importantly to himself. Charles tries to imagine Erik on his life-long hunt for Shaw and can't see him petting too many cats on his way. Everyone should pet a cat every now and then. It's good they now have five for Erik to pet and cuddle

This is so adorable. I love the kittens, and the petting the kittens, and Charles covered in kittens, and Erik cuddling Charles, and Erik cuddling Charles with the kittens between them, and long story short: THIS WAS THE BEST WAY FOR ME TO PET A LITTLE KITTEN WITH THEIR LITTLE SILKY HAIR AND THEIR LITTLE MEWING AND THEIR LITTLE DROWSY EYES, WITHOUT BURSTING INTO RED HIVES AND CRYING NON-CUTENESS-RELATED TEARS. THANK YOU.
