Oh man, I never knew I wanted something like this until I read this prompt. I'm especially enamored with the bonuses you tacked on. Hnng, I wish I had the time to write this.

This entire party has been excruciating, and Erik is glad to escape into the conservatory for a moment. He still can't believe that Charles is shackling himself to this oaf. The thought actually makes him feel slightly ill, which presumably accounts for his distraction. He doesn't hear Charles weeping until he almost runs into him. Charles's distraction is far deeper than his own, and it strikes Erik to the heart. His self-possessed little Omega, the man who always holds his own and can answer the sharpest of Erik's jabs with equanimity is kneeling on the floor and sobbing like his heart is broken and the shards are cutting him. He has one arm looped around a young tree for support, face buried in the other hand. He struggles to keep quiet, but his shoulders are heavy under his ostentatious jacket, the one Cain must have selected because it somehow manages to show off its cost more than Charles's beauty

How utterly inane, Charles thought contemptibly. His six-hour long search had put him in an uncharacteristically uncharitable mood, and for once, he didn’t talk himself out of it. Habitually, he was Charles Xavier, kind, polite, endlessly courteous and mindful of his manners, never one to speak or even think ill-will. But tonight, he was Charles Xavier, second-eldest in a family abandoned by their eldest, suddenly responsible for a household he could not support on his meager inheritance alone. He had received almost nothing after Brian Xavier’s death, courtesy of his omega status, and they had been depending on Emma to marry well, to marry

oh my god. This is completely fantastic already--I'm on a BBC period drama mini-series kick right now, and this is gorgeously similar in tone, but with the added bonus of Alpha/Omega dynamics...I cannot WAIT for more :D:D

To the question about non-con, I don't plan on having full-on rape in this story. Maybe an attempt though. Just fair warning. Also, Erik lives in Thornfield, not Netherfield. I'm just so engulfed by Pride & Prejudice at the moment that I'm mixing all my places. I apologize. Onward!
For a moment, he simply stared. His fatigued mind took several minutes to understand that Erik Lehnsherr was here, that Charles would not even have the morning to figure out how to break the news. But judging by the tense line of Lehnsherr’s mouth and the crease between his dark brows - and by the fact that Lehnsherr was here already when he had rarely ever visited before - Charles knew that news had already made its way to Thornfield Hall

“She spent time there, yes,” Lehnsherr interrupted, “but we hardly spoke. She was welcome by virtue of her status as my betrothed, that was all. We did not particularly enjoy each other’s company

Charles clasped his hands tightly together in his lap to keep from trembling with nervous tension. Fixing his gaze on the his intertwined fingers, he said, “I apologize, Mr. Lehnsherr, for any pain and trouble Emma has caused you. If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to ask it of me
