I was going to write some Rose/Victoire femmeslash, but then I realized that they're cousins. *le sigh* Oh, HP canon. Must you ruin my hopes? But then I decided to write Rose/Gabrielle instead, so everything's okay.

And, actually, the lesser known candidates like Gravel and Kucinich would be very large wins for the LGBT community. I feel very saddened by the fact that politics is run so much by money, because I really see Kucinich as the best chance for the Democrats to regain the White House. Now, obviously they will, but sooner or later the American People are going to get sick of them. It's just the way this whole system works.
Personally, I hate Hillary Clinton. I hate that I can practically see Bill coming back in and that conservative Democratic way of working. UGH. I can already see him being appointed to some position in her cabinet; he had his two terms and that should be the end of it.
But, honestly, she does have a point. If you go by the book, this should be a state issue. I'm not saying that it's a good situation, but that is what the Constitution tells us. We can do a lot to speed up the process of getting every state to agree on Gay Marriage, but otherwise...

Kucinich appeals to me politically, because I agree with him on almost every issue. The only thing is--and this hearkens back to your statement about politics and money--that I don't think he has the gravitas to facilitate major changes. Not to mention that he's doesn't exactly have a commanding, authoritative presence.
Agreed on the Clintons. Not to mention that Hillary is a seriously anti-woman woman. Plus, her being sold out to lobbyists for insurance companies clinched it for me. She will never get my support. Ever. She could have the biggest vagina in the world, and I wouldn't give a damn.
And yeah, one could consider it a states issue, buuuuuuuuuut (and I hate to make this comparison, I really do) wasn't there a similar argument concerning the civil rights movement? Because this really is a civil rights issue, when you get down to it.
