It's been a little while, but Cain's finally surfaced from the complex again. Black jogging pants and a grey tanktop are his clothes at the moment, taking liberties with the clothes that have been provided for him. He looks to have washed up recently as well, just taking his time and strolling through the courtyard before stopping, looking in the direction of the cliffs. He's quiet for a time, seeming to be a little distracted in his thoughts, as if worried about something.
And appearing from the direction of the dorms is Padraig, evening wear consisting of artfully ripped jeans and a rugby shirt of indeterminate origin. Now, he's a big guy, but he's looking up as he chats animatedly to the man on his left. "So, what d'you fancy? I'm in the mood for cooking, so I figure I can get something up pretty easily." his long hair is allowed to fall loose for once, being slowly whipped around in the breeze.
Kalin is perched atop a lion's head, focused on the courtyard in front of him. He's spent most of the day exploring the Island and now he turns his interests to his new teammates. Rather then spend time hunting down said teammates he decides to use a slightly different strategy. Kalin will simply wait here until the others show themselves. His form is humanoid, not wanting to potentially bother anyone passing by with his appearance.
It'd take more than a unique appearance to bother ole Juggie... The safety of a comrade, and perhaps even more than that, however is something else. He maintains his sense of silence, arms folded across his chest, the metallic bands attatched to his wrists and ankles more or less ignored. He takes time to notice the former fellow inmate sitting around before the chatter coming from behind catches his attention, allowing his head to turn that way.
"Sure, man. Noodles and pizza I can manage." Padraig offers to Fred, before another huge form catches his attention. "Alright there." he greets, with a broad grin settling into place as he comes to a halt. "How's it going? Another one of our new guys, eh?" Kalin receives a brief nod of recognition, and a short "Hey, buddy." before Padraig returns his look to Cain, chiselled jawline radiating nothing but cheerfulness.
Fred isn't radiating cheerfulness per se. He wanted to go on thd jailbreak but he was unfortunately not allowed because he couldn't handle the don't kill anyone portion. He's not a very controlled person when it coms to his rage issues. "What's up?" He offers to Cain, who he notes is largish but not as large as him.
Kalin watches silently as he sees Cain. He seems unsure of himself, not really knowing if he should go over there. This ends once he hears Padraig greeting. "Hello again." He calls out, stepping down from his perch. He begins to walk over to where Padraig stands. Fred gets a quizzical look as Kalin approach, but nothing is said to him yet.
Okay.. So unique appearances don't bother the big guy.. But holy shit. The look on his face tells a different story though, a light smile on his face as he turns around completely to acknowledge Padraig and his sizable companion. "You must be Fred," he says, rolling his shoulders. "Still getting used to the place, so not so much yet." He notes Padraig as well, remembering him somewhat from yesterday.
"The name's Padraig O'Hara. Call me Blitz if you feel like it." Padraig offers, another broad grin breaking out over his features. "You'd be the guy I almost bolted before I saw Sabella. Sorry about that, by the way." He tilts his head over to Kalin for a moment. "You finished exploring everywhere yet?"
Fred nods to Kalin but his eyes are mostly on Cain, clearly debating whether this man will prove a companion or competition. "Yep. You can call me Blob if you like. That's my post-human name." He shrugs slightly, "So who are you and what do you do?" Rude but at least he's only sounding curious, and perhaps slightly dimmer than your average Joe
Kalin nods. "I think I've gotten handle on where all the things I need to know are." He turns his focus towards Fred when he nods. "I'm Kalin." He says, before turning back to Padraig. "If I may ask, I'm still a little confused about the whole two name things. You mind explaining it?"
He's quick to the point. Cain's dealt with types that are plenty more rude than that, so the bluntness of the statement doesn't seem to phase him much. How to explain both in a quick little quip.. "Name's Cain Marko. I can dish out the pain and can take it. If you want, call me Juggernaut." He notes Kalin's question, but figures one of the other two might be able to explain it better than he.
Padraig quirks a smile at Kalin, before starting, "When you really acknowledge you're better than the humans, you take a post-human name. Something suitable for yourself, genrally fits with your powers or personality. Essentially, it's the final cut off when you realise that homo superior really does mean something. The other theory is that it's a codename so your real name doesn't get figured on missions. I'm cool with either, to be honest." The two huge men receive a slight frown, but there's no comment on testosterone-fueled posturing just yet.
Fred can explain the answer perfectly actually, "They're post human names. I's alot like the sixty's civil right movement when black men gave up the names of the slave owners their people had been freed from a hundred years before. We give up our old names because they're the names of Monkeys...not us. It further seperates us from the apes. It's not something you do after acknowledging superiority it's a step on the way to truly acknowledging you're better than them." Yep Fred's big into the dogma since he got his brain upgraded. "I'm pretty tough and good at dishing out pain too. "
"I see." Kalin keeps an eye on the two other men as he talks. "I don't really think I need to worry about people finding out about my real name." He grins. "With all the coverage the breakout got it's pretty common knowledge now." Kalin falls quiet, his mind already running over names. "I see your point. I'll have give it some thought.
"So I hear," is Cain's reply. From the look of of body, he could safetly assume that this guy's capable of taking a good hit. He looks like his body's just made for absorbing impact. He could imagine the two of them being somewhat similar, even if they're built like polar opposites of one another. He's not sure he whole-heartedly agrees with the reason for the second names, though. He likes to think of it more as a title, though there might be other reasons. His attention once more turns toward Padraig, since they all seem to be getting to know one another. "So, if you don't mind telling. Any particular reason they call you Blitz?" Well, it's pretty obvious the other's built pretty well for his size, but somehow he thinks there might be more to the story.
"Seems Fred can explain better than me." Padraig retorts, somewhat wryly considering Fred's fairly legendary lack of 'smarts'. He does break into a grin at the Blob though, before turning back to Kalin. "Name's are easy. Just ask a few people, get some ideas. For example, I am called Blitz because..." His brow knits in concentration for a moment, eyes closing, before his entire body erupts into the cascade of dancing and skittering blue sparks, the aura easily visible even outside his clothing. "Of this." His eyes open to look at Cain, the shining blue light coming from them hiding all emotion, but the grin is still in place. "And I used to play a lot of US football. Runningback, actually." The sparks continue to rip around, Padraig maintaining the aura via only a little visible concentration.
Fred grins a little, "and for his tendency to get drunk off his ass...He's irish whaddya expect ya know? Those guys can't handle their liquor. That's why they mostly stick to beer anyway..." He grins a little, and looks at Kalin, "so what do you do?..."
Kalin takes a step back from Padraig as just before the sparks become visible. He can sense the charge building in the man and wants a to put a little more distance between him and Padraig. "I really don't want to sound rude, but can you take that down a couple of notches. Its a little..." Kalin fumbles for a correct word. "Loud." He turns his attention towards Fred. "I can control my the shape and color of my body." He gestures towards Padraig. "He's already been given a demonstration. I can sense living objects by their electrical aura's." He glances towards Padraig as he says this. Kalin not really good at describing this sense. "It really helps when I'm in a form of without eyes."
Cain's eyes briefely squint at the sudden little discharge from Blitz. Pretty impressive display in a visual sense, though he doesn't seem to back up much. His eyes seem to adjust to the sight of it by the time he speaks up. "Pretty handy gifts there, I'd imagine," he says, hearing Kalin's own explanation as well.. Certainly not something he can do, though his powers would probably require more of a confrontational demonstration to really explain things, though he's sure Blitz was able to see when the guards tried to put holes in him.
Padraig offers an apologetic smile to Kalin even as the sparks dissapate, being reabsorbed rapidly into his body, his eyes dimming to their usual piercing blue. "Sorry, Kalin. Guess we're not going to be close to each other on missions, eh? I'll probably buzz off your charts when I send a bolt out." Cain gets a brief, but open grin. "Can be handy, but it's damn annoying to not be able to sleep next to the missus, 'cause I'll shock her in my sleep. If you want, feel free to touch me, and I won't pull my power back. It's like a nasty static shock. This is what goes around normally." He holds his hand forward, offering it for Cain to try if he wants. An amused glance finds it's way to Fred as he waits. "You want food or what? Abusing me's not gonna get you there any faster."
Fred raises his brow, "Yeah well you better get yoru ass in there and start cooking then if you want to stay on my good side." He looks over at Kalin, "I'd kill for a power like that one. I bet you get all kinds of girls with that kind of power. Oh I should demonstrate mine. Cain? I want you to hit me as hard as you can."
"During a mission it might not be a problem. It was just a little more then I was expecting, I'll get used to it." Kalin looks towards Fred, unsure if the man is joking. "Looking like this?" He gestures down at his mottled form. "This is as close to a human form as I can get. Plus when I sleep, I lose my form. Nobody wants to wake up the next morning next to a large whitish blob." He takes a moment to take a few steps away from Fred and Cain as he hear Fred's challenge.
Cain quirks a brow briefely at Padraig's offer. He shrugs softly to Blitz's warning, though he acknowledges it sincerely enough, reaching out and letting his hand clasp over his, not so hard as it might sound coming together. He can tell this guy's carrying a charge, other than the slight reactions of his hair up above, he seems as casual as he was before. In fact he keeps his hand on Fred as he's asked this and for a moment he seems a little unsure in the face. "You sure you want me to do that?" He slowly lets go of Blitz's hand, mildly annoyed with the effect on his hair, but he'll live. "No offense, but I'm not sure that's really a good idea."
There's a brief chuckle towards Kalin from Padraig. "I'm sure you'll find a girl who's just really into your sort of thing. There's always one for everyone. Hell, even I found a woman." He glances between Fred and Cain, a grin of pure amusement coming onto his face, even as he takes a number of steps backwards. "Fred can handle it." he assures Cain. "Just try not to hit me on the rebound, yeah?" He settles into a relaxed stance, and watches them both carefully.
Fred plants his feet and smiles, "It's not really fighting this is just giving you a chance to show what you can do. blitz here hit me with his lightning full force and it didn't even give me a tingle. I'm not exactly the kind of guy you're used to dealing with." He smiles, "C'mon...do it and I'll steal us a keg to split next time I'm off island"
Kalin shrugs. "But any girls who are 'into' that sort of thing will probably be a little too... " He thinks about his wording carefully before continuing. "Out there for my tastes." He takes a few more steps back, putting himself the same distance away as Padraig is. Kalin watches the two men. more then a little curious about just what is going to happen.
It's not really that he can 'Take it' that he's worried about. But unless this guy's SERIOUSLY weighed down, even someone like him could be going for a ride if he hit'em full force. He's never really hit anyone with all that he's got for pretty good reason. Still, they don't seem like they're going to take no for an answer. He heh's at the offer. "I'm not really much of a drinker." Not alcohol really, but more like anything period. Still, he lets himself stretch lightly and relax himself. "Alright," he says, somewhat warningly. He gives his knuckles a little crack with his free hand, picking his spot. He could probably reach the guy's chin and chest if he wanted, but that'd be way out of line. Instead he goes for a more obvious target, though not sure what to expect. He takes a step forward and with a grunt thrusts his fist considerably fast and even harder while aiming at the other big guy's considerable gut.
Padraig is still just watching this little interchange with great amusement. He tips his head to one side for Kalin. "Well, you gotta take what comes along, if anything does. I think I just got lucky in finding a girl who's both beautiful and a great lass." He turns his head back to the punch, just in time to see it thrown. He actually breaks into a little chuckle.
Fred looks down as teh fist buries in his gut, watching how far it sinks in with a mildly interested look..."Holy god...that was further than I've ever seen anyone else's fist sink...Very nice you must be strong as hell..." He flexes his stomach muscles to try to expectorate teh fist like he does bullets..."I've got a personal gravity field thing too...keeps me from being knocked back see...Nothing moves the Blob" He loves saying those four words
"If it happens it happens." Just faintest traces of bitterness creep into Kalin's voice. His eye widen when he sees how far Cain's fist sinks into Fred's stomach. He just stares at the scene in front of him for a few moment, still taking in what he is seeing. "That must be a really useful little ability."
Well, there's a surprise. His stomach ate his arm! Okay, he's impressed.. He can't help but wonder where flesh ends and bones begin in this guy. He stares back up at Fred from his stretched shoulder. He still seems a bit tense when Blob's trying to push him out, so he might actually feel some resistance at first. He feels the pressure on his hand though and just guesses what he's trying to do, starting to pull back himself until his arm's promptly 'spit' out. He looks down at his arm a moment, on one side, then the other before he looks up again, starting to smile. "You've officially got my attention. That's pretty damn impressive."
"It's more than useful." Padraig offers. "I'd rather have him take a bullet than me. What'll rip me to shreds won't even touch him." It's a frank appraisal, and Padraig grins at the two huge men. "Right, I'm going to make food now. When you guys are finished playing, I'll be in the kitchen with a cauldron of noodles." He turns to begin walking away, throwing a "See you later, guys!"
Fred smiles, "Yeah I like to think so...You imprese me too...you seen teh weight room yet? We've got bars storng enough to hold weights I can't even lift. You should see how much of a workout they give you...And you should see teh real fun with my stomach...somoene shoots me...I can shoot the bullets back by flexing" He smiles a little.."Noodles...Oooh...I should o get some of that"
Kalin nods. "I see. I'll remember that when people start shooting at us." He watches Padraig as he leaves. "Later." He calls out. "I should probably get something to eat as well. I lost a lot of mass in during the breakout." He starts to walk away though he heading off in a different direction then Padraig. "Nice meeting you two." Kalin calls back to Fred and Cain.
Cain stretches and curls his fingers testingly. He doesn't suspect anything to be wrong with his hand, but you can never be too sure. He looks up and thinks a moment.. "I think I passed it by while looking around earlier." Some heavy weights, huh? He can only wonder. "I'll check it out again later," he says, offering a nod to Kalin as he heads off... "I think I'll just go and catch the news," he says, nodding to the other pair. "See you both later, huh?"
"Yup. Probably see you in the weight room or something. Got to get the training in." Padraig moves off, again looking up to the large man walking at his side, who appears there quite quickly. "So, we going for curries noodles or more of a sweet and sour?..." Discussion of food trails off into the main complex as Padraig and Fred make their way towards munchies.
Some of the boys meet up in the courtyard. Hilarity ensues, at least for Padraig. Then noodles.
