A pale girl sits at the edge of the fountain, dress pulled up to her knees, legs crossed as she leans back, staring off into the water idly. It's almost night...not quite there yet though, the sky slowly darkening. And she just stares, pushing dark hair from out of her face, never really blinking. The seagulls have stopped coming around so close, now... that's a little strange. It's actually pretty quiet around here, other then the sound of the waves and the fountain.
Mystique walks along the passage way, heading out to the courtyard for a little breather. She smiles as she spots Raidha and steps forward until she comes to rest, leaning her shoulder to one of the pillars that dots the area, "You just love that fountain, don't you, dear?"
There's a crunching sound of dirt and rock from the direction of the Complex. Toxin steps out, not too far behind Mystique, though she either didn't notice the other woman or didn't care. A small pack is slung over her shoulder, a strange harness strapped on over her catsuit. At the sight of the two women, she veers in their direction, pausing a few feet away and nodding in greeting. Her cheeks are flushed, as if she's already had some excercise today.
Raidha looks up, the tiny nicks on her lower lip and on her eyebrow still there, looking as though they were made a moment ago.. clean.. but open wounds, red on her pale face. She offers a small, bland smile, "It's calmer then the ocean.." She says quietly, eyes darting behind Mystique, eyebrows raising. She slowly looks back down to the water, tilting her head and staring at her reflection again.
Mystique just gives a little smile to Raidha, "I suppose it is... but it doesn't run anymore, like it used to." As Toxin approaches, Mystique turns her attention to her, signalled by Raidha's look behind her. She gives a warm smile in greeting before lifting a curious brow, "You look like you've just scaled the cliffs..."
Toxin sets the pack down, the open top revealing that it carries climbing equipment. She flashes a smile at both Mystique and Raidha, shaking her head at the former. "Actually, I was just about to. The cliff's good practice for such things." Another nod is given the pale girl and the blonde says, "I don't think we've met. I'm Toxin." No reason for her to be rude.
The phantom-looking girl probably would have responded, but she stays quiet... perhaps being polite? She doesn't smile back to Toxin, just staring, not in an entirely unfriendly way. Alas, her attention is drawn elsewhere, just staring back at her ghostly replica in the still water. She looks shocked when she is actually spoken to again, eyes widening, she blinks, she parts her lips and stays quiet for a moment, glancing to Mystique and back to Toxin, "I'm Raidha." She says quietly, very sweetly - her voice is always tiny and sweet.
Mystique settles back against the pillar and turns her attention to Raidha, "Don't be shy, dear, everyone here is a friend, and, for all intents and purposes, your family. Now, Toxin, what has made you so eager to go climbing at this hour? You know the cliffs get dangerous at night."
Toxin smiles slightly once more at Raidha. "A pleasure." she replies in a low tone, before addressing Mystique's question. "It's hardly the dead of night, and besides, I've equipment. I'm not so much of a fool to try free climbing on those cliffs. Too slick." Not to mention they constantly erode because of the ocean. "Like I said, it's good practice. Better than a rock wall."
Raidha watches the two, eyes drifting to their feet... she's still quiet, listening to the conversation and smiling a little to herself... barely enough to be noticed as if fades quickly.
Mystique nods to what is said, "Well, in any case, since you're going alone, do be safe about it. I'm sure you will, but, still, be safe."
Toxin nods in reply. "I always am." She rubs her sweaty hand on her leg, leaving a dark mark on the waterproof material. "I really should get to it before the tides come in." she says, picking up her bag, only to have some rope and picks fall out of the top. "For pity's sake..."
Raidha perks up as thing fall, blinking a little and looking back to Mystique, not helping the tiny minute smirk. She smooths down her dress, watching... she would never be courageous enough to try something like that... or in her own words, stupid enough. ((o.O))
Mystique leans down to begin helping Toxin gather her things as the girl drops them from her bag. While doing so, she is allowed a getter glimpse of where Toxin's hand rubbed to her pants, "Toxin... are you going to be wearing gloves?"
"Of course." is Toxin's instant reply. She normally wears gloves around the island because of her mutation. "My hands were a bit sweaty, so I took them off for a few minutes." And indeed, the backs of her hands still have beads of sweat on them. She crouches and starts to pick up the rope, curling it in her hands. "Never fear, Mystique. I was taught well what to do when climbing." She offers the other woman a reassuring smile.
Raidha slowly stands up, flickering invisible as she steps over, lifting a pick up gently and holding it out. Only the dress shows where she is, and the necklace, all the rest is just... nothingness. The pick seems to float in the air, even. Aww... she's /helping/.
Mystique looks up to Raidha and smiles a moment, "Dear, you've... well, you'd play a relatively believable in the movie The Invisible Woman at the moment." She rises back up, after stuffing one of the picks into Toxin's bag.
Toxin glances upwards at the floating pick, one eyebrow arched. Well, she's seen weirder. "Thanks." she says, reaching up to take the pick from Raidha and put it back in the bag. She zips the pack shut and straightens up. "I get the idea that you don't approve of my climbing the cliffs." she points out to Mystique.
The dress moves up, sweeping back with an ocean breeze and pressing on her invisible legs - outlining them. She doesn't sat anything, and you can't really tell her expression... or where her attention is...
Mystique says, "No, I do approve, just, well, unless you were just in the sauna, or had your hand inside of a heated oven, I really do not see why your hand would be sweating so much."
Toxin gives Raidha another glance, grinning in her direction. That really is a neat trick, should come in handy. Waving away Mystique's concern, she says, "It's nothing. I'm just a bit hot inside this gear...haven't worn it in a while and all." Like she would ever admit that she doesn't feel up to par. One of her hands goes up and scratches at the back of her neck, pulling the collar down far enough to briefly reveal a band-aid if anyone was looking.
"Maybe she's Italian..." Raidha says softly, almost whispering...her voice...the epitome of innocent girlish voices. Her sleeves lift up slowly, and you can tell by the way the dress hunches that she is looking in the direction of her own, "I know I sweat...when I'm sick..." She says softly, flickering back into full-vision and looking at the two other women, giving a tiny shrug and crossing her arms.
Mystique notices the band-aid at the back of Toxin's neck and lifts a brow before stepping to her side and peering at it a little closer, "And what do we have here?" She looks back to Raidha and gives a little nod in agreement, "Toxin, are you sure you're alright?"
Toxin allows Mystique to look at her neck for less than a second before smoothing the collar back up. The band-aid is actually a pair of them, the small round kind that people use for tiny cuts. "It's nothing." she says, a little sharply, then softens it with a smile. "I caught a cold while I was in Russia, that's all. I'm on the upper end of it. I'll be fine." She seems rather confident, until her words are punctuated by a soft cough. Covering her mouth with her hand, she wipes it off on a handkercheif that comes from...somewhere.
Raidha stares at Toxin, tilting her head a little and stepping foreward, shaking her head a little, "It's not very smart to go rock climbing with a cold... You should get rest, you know... or it'll get worse...and.. you'll die." She says the last two words in a cute little chime, sing-songing the last sentence in an optimist way. Funny because, the girl doesn't -look- very optimistic.
Mystique nods in agreement with Raidha's assessment, "Well, until you're all better, you're not going rock climbing, Toxin. It's not worth the risk, and I personally don't want to wake up tonight with someone running into my room saying they've found your body at the bottom of the cliff."
Toxin shakes her head, rather stubbornly. "I'm well aware of my limits, Mystique. I've had to climb rocks tired before, and besides, I'll be fine in a couple of days. I will not sit around my room like an invalid." Yep, Toxin's stubborn.
Raidha raises her eyebrows, "But...if you end up hurting yourself...that is all you will ever be able to do... forever..." She blinks, blushing and stepping away, looking down and slowly fading into nothingness again - obviously realizing she is out of turn speaking up so much. Mumbling a nearly-silent apology and taking another smooth step back.
Mystique just smiles and looks back to Raidha as she hears the slight apology whispered to the winds, "No, dear, don't be sorry, you weren't out of line. You bring forth a very good point." She returns her attention to Toxin and shakes her head, "You are not going on that cliff in your condition. That is final, do you understand?"
"Fine." Toxin snaps, letting her anger show. "I'm not in a 'condition', thank you very much. I'll go and do my excercise in the weight room, as I should. I hope -that- meets with your satisfaction." She tosses her ponytail and slings the pack over her shoulder, marching back towards the complex. Snappy today, aren't we?
