Even in the summer, the cliffs is never the ideal choice as a place to train. The winds and sea spray make it rather uncomfortable for most people. But comfort is not what Toxin is looking for. The second in command of the Brotherhood is sitting cross-legged here, hands resting on her thighs. Her eyes are closed, and the serene expression on her face suggests that she is meditating.
There are few places one can go to get away from everything, to think, to relax, and yes even to meditate. Lu finds himself in just that place, after the issue with Padraig yesterday he needed to think a few things over in his mind. Was Sabella correct in saying that good genes don't make one better than another? He would surely consider Sabella foolish if he had not seen how very much a lady she was. All the time his father has spent hammering ideas in his head, and now suddenly many of them seemed so flawed. Though Lu would never tell anyone this, even thinking such thoughts would betray his father and that is just down right inexcusable! Lost in his own thoughts he does not notice Toxin as he makes his way to a rock and rests himself on it. "To think, one could find such a place on an island such as this.."
"Unfortunately, one can rarely find solitude in a place a populated as this one." Toxin counters, her head not moving and her eyes not opening as she hears the voice. It's not one immediately familiar to her, though she's sure that she's heard it before. So there's no need to attack just yet. After several silent moments, she turns her head to regard LuXu, her blonde ponytail blowing in the wind. "However, one rarely comes out here unless one wishes to think."
LuXu turns to the woman and sighs a moment as he thought this place would be empty, alas no such luck. "Very true..Miss?" He does not recognize her right away, though he is for sure that he has seen her around the island. She must be an important figure, but something is nagging at him. "Ah! Forgive me.. a gentleman must introduce himself first!" Lu pushes away from the rock and offers her a more proper bow. "Lu Xu Liang, pleased to meet you." He returns upright and rests his hands behind his back. Who was she! He is certain he has seen her before!
Toxin inclines her head toward LuXu, the nod just a little bit frosty. Boy, you are in trouble if you can't remember the name of the 2-in-C. "Toxin." she replies in a formal tone, not bothering to get up. Evil little woman, she is. "Lu Xu Liang...assigned to Sabella, if I'm correct?" And make him feel even worse, because she knows things about him, too.
LuXu blinks as he feels his chest tighten once again, the thought of him not knowing who is leaders are causes a pit in his stomach. "Miss Toxin!" He barks and bows again, much deeper than before. "Forgive me for not knowing who you were sooner! My mind was currently else where, I swear to you that it will not happen again!" The tightness in his chest relaxing, but the pit in is stomach is still there. He would have to be quick to work his way out of this mess, his mind begins to work quickly. "Yes Ma'am!" His quick to respond to her question, and moves closer to her side. Lu lowers himself down to his knees and then resting comfortably on his feet. He knew the name, but did not know the face. He would hope that she would not punish him to much for his stupidity.
Toxin really isn't in the mood to punish anyone, as any punishment in this area would probably involve pushing someone off the cliff. And she can forgive him for not remembering her face, as she's not around the island every day. Once. "And how are your lessons progressing?" she inquires, the formality still there. Other than her head, she hasn't moved at all from her position on the hard ground.
LuXu places his hands in his lap as he begins to answer her question. "I have not begun my training yet with Miss Sabella, though I am very excited and can not wait to see what I can learn from her." In the back of his mind he is pleased that she has not thrown him off a cliff, though she could still be testing him. He will remain on his best behavior while in her presence, even if that fool Padraig shows his face. "I am sorry for disrupting your meditation Miss Toxin. It is nice to see that I am not the only one that tries to achieve some small bit of inner peace." Nice touch, he should stop before going to far. Short and simple that is the way to go.
Toxin nods as if being on the island for months at a time and not starting training is perfectly acceptable. It is, only when one's teacher disappears for months at a time. Her gold-green eyes give him a quick, yet thorough once-over. "If you wish sparring practice, I would suggest asking either Padraig or Derek to spar with you. Though I warn you that Derek is quite a bit bigger than you are." A tiny twinkle appears in her eyes. "Or if I am free, I might be willing to teach you a thing or two."
LuXu straightens his back and moves his shoulders back as Toxin looks him over, after all he can be seen looking like a slob or something. The thought of him sparring with Padraig causes him to crack a smile, though Lu is quick to wipe it away. "As much as I would enjoy a good sparring partner, I do not feel that Padraig is good choice at this current time. Though I do not wish to cause harm to him, we have had a disagreement and would need a little more time before both ourheads had a chance to cool off." Perfect and professional as always. Lu is proud of himself, but wonders if he should add more. "As for Derek I do not believe I have had the honor of meeting with him. And size would not be an issue here Miss Toxin." Lu smiles, "Size does not always win out. In a fight many other factors would come into play such as skill and cunning. Take Miss Sabella for example. She is a very.." Be tactful, " petit woman, where she looks frail I know that she could quite easily defeat me and maybe a few others on this island." Lu grins on the inside, "And besides I would really like to test my skill against Fred. He I believe would be a good sparring partner, as he poses a very large challenge for me." Though he must not forget her offer, "I would not wish to trouble you Miss Toxin, you have so much to do and dealing with me would surely take to much of your valuable time."
Toxin regards LuXu for a long moment, probably long enough to make him rather uncomfortable. "Do not judge those on this island only by what you may see or hear, but by their actions. Take me, or Sabella. Had you seen us on the street, would you have judged us as adversaries?" Despite her words, Toxin seems cool and collected. "But the fact remains that Sabella and I are frequent sparring partners, and it is often difficult to see who comes out on top in the end." Narrowing her eyes, she nods shortly, but adds, "I would not have made the offer if I didn't mean it. In fact, I intend that we should have a spar sometime." Implicit in the statement and tone is 'don't make me come looking for you'.
LuXu swallows hard as the long pause she gives him does make him quite uneasy, she is a difficult one to be around. A real challenge, though if he could gain her good graces he could easily find himself moving up in the organization. Her words strike true and he did indeed make a judgement call on words and rumors than actually seeing of skill. "Ah of course. Please forgive me Miss Toxin." He offers her a light bow and returns to his upright position. Lu finds himself almost envious of Toxin, she appears to be so cold, cunning, and lacking all emotions. Something which he has wanted for quite sometime now. "I see." He pauses, His brain working on what to say next. "Then I would be honored to be your partner Miss Toxin. For giving up your time to sparr with me, I would work extra hard to make it a good fight."
Appearances can be oh so deceiving. And that's another thing LuXu needs to learn, but Toxin won't teach him that today. "I have been told you're not entirely unschooled, so I doubt it will be a one-sided fight." she says, looking at him straight in the eye. And she assumes she's been told the truth. It is she who looks away, eyebrows drawing together as she thinks. "You have...gravitational powers, is that correct? Can you move objects with these?" Change of subject, good.
LuXu nods at Toxin, trying to stay as cool as possible. At this moment he feels as if the sun isn't the only thing beating down on him. "Yes Miss Toxin, I have some martial arts training. Though I am no master in them, I can in fact hold my own in a fight." Well with those he's encountered thus far, he has yet to go up against those with real fighting skills. Lu blinks, feeling very uncomfortable as she stares him down. This woman was unlike any he has ever encountered before, "T.." He clears his throat, she has cracked his shell, and Lu is quick to recover from his stumble. "That is correct Miss Toxin. I can move objects as well as people. It took me some time to master this ability, but I feel confident in my powers."
Toxin smiles at that point. While it is undoubtedly a lovely smile, it does not bring the warmth to her face that it normally would. "Excellent. In that case, I will have to insist that you team up with Derek at some point. He is a telekinetic, and could use a partner to help him with his control. The two of you could have tug of wars and such, and it would probably improve your control as well." Closing her eyes for a brief moment, the smile is wiped away, and Toxin pats LuXu's hand with her gloved one. "Leave me now. I wish to continue my meditation."
LuXu bows deeply to Toxin and then stands, "I will seek out Derek right away and do as you ask of me Miss Toxin." He offers her another bow before turning and leaving. His hands behind his back as he exhales deeply, that woman will be a tough one to be around. Lu is quick to get away, mostly because he is still feeling ill for not know who she was.
