Note:
Amara,
Follow LuXu to the mainland, and be sure he doesn't get into any trouble or do anything other than get a book repaired. Don't let him see you unless you deem it necessary. By all means, screw with his mind.
Toxin
Sending a summons after the errant junior, Toxin is pacing back and forth in her rarely used Brotherhood quarters. Having changed from her gymanstics outfit to her customary black catsuit, she looks more like the second in command that she is. Every once in a while she pauses to glance at the door. Lu had better not make her come looking for him.
Also pacing back and forth is Lu Xu. Though he is outside her room, and is gathering himself and his story together before knocking. It wouldn't be wise to walk into a snake pit without first having a plan. With a quick brush over himself and brief exhale Lu knocks on the door. The door that will prove his fate.
The door is snapped open seconds later, and the eyes of Toxin glare at Lu icily, the gold-green snapping and the pupils narrowed into slits. "Inside." she snaps, saying nothing else until the door is slammed shut and locked after he is inside. She turns around, crossing her arms over her chest, her entire manner cold, but there is an aura of absolute fury radiating from her. "Explain."
LuXu blinks at Toxin's quick actions and has no chance to bow or greet her what so ever. The look she gives him is one that he has never seen before and knows that maybe, just this once. Greetings could be skipped over. "I suppose you wish to know about what happened today then. With.." He pauses as he never even got the girls name. "The girl I had an issue with." He clears his throat and stands up straight. " I was leaving the Weight Room and she came around the corner and bumped into me, dropping some book she had her nose in. I picked it up for her and yet she called me a fool for not watching where I was going." He pauses as he thinks what to say. "So I played a prank on her. The book she was holding, I made it heavier and heavier. Though the girl didn't think to let go of the book and it crushed her hands." He nods, "In all fairness as soon as this had happened I was quick to reverse the weight of the book. I never ment for her to get hurt."
Toxin stays silent for so long, one might think she had become a statue. "You don't get it, do you, Lu Xu?" she says, quietly so it's hard to catch her words. Those that know Toxin, know that quiet is bad with a capital B. "You should -never- have played a prank on her in the first place, such a malicious one that easily could have and -did- result in injury to a fellow Brotherhood member!" As she speaks, the blonde's voice gets louder, but she's not shouting. Yet. "You have been on this island long enough to know better, to know the rules and their consequences. By all rights, I should snap your neck where you stand."
LuXu's face remains emotionless as he finishes telling his side of the story. The long pause that Toxin gives is unsettling, but maybe it would be a good thing in his favor. Though he could only be so lucky. "Miss Toxin I assure you that I would not have wanted her to be hurt! Not because she is a brotherhood member, but because she was a young girl! I may be many things but I am no monster, and attacking a young girl such as her is not something I seek out to fill out my day!" Okay so there was some emotion in his tone on that one. "Though I understand if you are angry. I have heard that the women of this island do tend to stick together. So Miss Toxin." Lu stands at attention. "I am ready to accept whatever punishment you see fit to give me. I can take it."
"The only things that were hurt were your pride and arrogance. And you sought to repay that by injuring her, whether by accident or design, it does. Not. Matter." Toxin repeats, fury still radiating from her in all directions. At the 'you all stick together' remark, she gives him a look that just screams that was a bad idea. "Lu Xu Liang. -That- remark was both degrading and grotesquely innacurate. But, what should I expect from someone who attacks a child, and -acts- like a child on a regular basis?" One of her gloves comes off, and she holds a single bare finger just centimeters from his face, almost daring him to move. "And if I wanted to punish you, you would be in a world of pain. Death is a release, not a punishment."
The emotionless face that Lu was so hard in trying to keep melts away at her words. The fact that she says those things about him cause him to frown and frown hard. The air around him warps and shifts as it is know that his power has been activated. He's mad, beyond that he's furious with Toxin. The threat of her finger near his head goes without saying that he is afraid, but his anger is to strong. "You would not know what happened in that corridor. You were not there. I did NOT plan on her being hurt." It finally comes out, "I can not help it if the little wench was to stupid to release her grasp on the book. And then that guy who came to help her said those things about me. He said that I was insecure about myself! How dare he.. How dare he say such things. He could have said those things in private. Instead he would dare belittle me in front of so many others." It is clear, very very clear that Toxin struck a nerve with him. Though he would dare not attack her, the thoughts did cross his mind. The ease in which he could kick her in the chest. The sheer force of gravity crushing her insides...
Guy who came to help her...suddenly it fits, just a little. That must have been Chrome, and Chrome protects his little sister at all costs. They all know that. But Toxin's eyes narrow, and her hand comes away. But just as swiftly, her gloved hand snaps around, and the resounding -crack- of the back of her hand connecting with LuXu's cheek resounds in the room. "You understand nothing of how the real world works, Lu Xu Liang. You only understand that pitifully small area in which you were brought up, wherever that may be. I do not care if your feelings were hurt when Chrome said such things. From now on, you have no equals on this island." Toxin's words are cold and biting, and the expression on her face is one of indifference. "You are in a world composed entirely of your superiors."
LuXu straightens his head and glares long and hard at Toxin, his aura flarring up as she belittles him further. "I know muct about the world Miss Toxin." He tries to bite his lip, but can't. Though her words cause Lu to wince. Not just mentally wince, but there is a physical pain in his chest as well. Everyone on this island are his superiors! That is.. that is an unspeakable act. Lu growls as the thought of calling everyone his senior angers him even more. Padraig, Brendan, and even Lillianne.. that little wench. Lu grabs his chest and frowns. "Why don't you just kill me now! Do it! DO IT!" He screams at her, begging for death. Beggin for mercy. With a thud Lu falls to his knees, as his vision becomes blurry. "Why would you do this to me! WHY!"
Toxin merely watches Lu fall to his knees, calmly putting her glove back on her bare hand and crossing her arms over her chest once more. "Because you must learn to control your arrogance. You have not earned the right to display the airs you have put on yourself. Earn that right, and prove to me that you are worthy to be in our ranks, and not just a cocky boy. And you have not earned a death at my hands." Dropping to one knee with the grace of a cat, she plants one finger under Lu's chin and lifts it up. "When that day comes, if death is still what you wish, I will kill you with my own blade."
LuXu glares at Toxin, his mind calculating what she had done to him. This would be something he could never live with. The fact that a simple prank had turned to him being demoted. Demotion, never in the history of the Liang family had that word been used with any of it's members. This was a great mental blow to him, and he didn't know whether to attack her or cry. "I have been on this Island longer than most! I know more than most! I am stronger than most! I have earned that right!"
Toxin narrows her eyes, her upper lip curling into a snarl. "You have earned -nothing-, and learned nothing while you have been here, as evidenced by your behavior! If you had, you would have never pulled that prank to begin with." She leans even closer in, her face mere centimeters from his. "Now, Lu, you can tell me what it is you will do to regain your prestige. Because it can be regained, if you know how." Her eyes never leave his as she silently awaits his answer.
LuXu growls as he stares into her eyes, he is for once unable to think of something to say. He is at best, at a loss for words. She might have been right, maybe he had been hard on those around him. Though the reason for his snap remarks on those around him was simple. Lu was jealous. He had seen how each of these people had skills he did not possess, and tried his best to belittle them. "I do not know what you want me to do!" His mind snaps on the here and now. "What is it you want?" Wait, he had a good idea, "You want me to apologize to them don't you.." He frowns, "That's it isn't it?"
Toxin stays silent for a few moments, then slowly nods. "Yes, apologizing to Lillianne would be a good start. But I don't really think she's going to want to be alone with you for some time. Perhaps you should do it in a semipublic place here on the island. Meaning not in her room." Her tone is cool and calm, but it can snap back to anger in an instant if need be. Tilting her head to one side, she smiles just a little. "And how are you going to apologize to her? And to her brother, don't forget."
LuXu moves his head away from Toxin's finger and lowers his head. In public! How could he do such a thing!? What if someone were to see this display of weakness. What would they think? What would they think of him!? This wasn't fair, why was he being punished like this. Why couldn't it had been hard labor or something brutish and physical. "I do not think I could perform an act in public like that." He exhales, "What if I were to just do so in private, with the two of them." To apologize to that.. that.. runt! Gah! That just sickened him. "As to how.. I.. I don't know."
"I suggest you think of something. And I also suggest that it be appropriate, nothing that might be misconstrued as an insult. Perhaps a gift." Toxin says, rising to her feet now that LuXu has finally looked away. Something brutish and physical might have been appropriate, but it just wouldn't have hurt as much as this is hurting Lu. And it's a lesson he won't forget anytime soon. "You may do so in private, as long as it is with the two of them. Don't meet with either one alone." Looking down at him, a tiny smirk crosses her face. "You need to learn humility."
LuXu feels physically ill at the thought of asking forgiveness from Chrome. Just who was that guy to talk down to him like that and why did he know so much. "Who..." He tries to gather himself up, it was not right for him to be on his knees like this. Powers still active, Lu simply floats like a balloon. He straightens his legs out so he feet are once again on solid ground. "Maybe I could.. get that book of hers repaired...." He bits his lower lip, "though I will need to leave the island to do so."
Toxin nods slowly. "That would be a good idea. You have my permission to go off-island for a day and get the book repaired. I also suggest that you make damn sure it's done by an expert." It's not a bad idea as far as apologies go, and Lu apologizing to Lilli will go a long way with Chrome. "Leave immediately. Go now." She waves him towards the door. "I will know when you've accomplished what you've set out to do."
LuXu blinks as he is granted rights to go off island. Though he doesn't say anything more as he turns to leave. A day trip to leave the island, but to get a book repaired. What if he couldn't get it repaired?! That book was toast as far as being nearly crushed goes. Lu reaches for the lock and then for the knob. "Thank you..." He pauses, "For not killing me Miss Toxin." Ahh so it has begun. The change in Lu, this would be a difficult path indeed.
