OOC Announcement

This is mostly for the juniors, but good reading for all Brotherhooders:

Okay. First things first. Go re-read the faction rules, then come back. They are found here: http://charis2.servegame.com/mucks/xmenmuck/brotherhoodrules.html

For those of you who seem to be having a problem grasping a few concepts, let me lay them out for you:

Leaving the island:

Juniors are NOT to leave the island without express permission of Magneto or Toxin. Any senior may take a junior or two with them when they leave the island, but these two are the only ones that are allowed to give you permission to leave on your own.

Juniors may be given leave once, or maybe twice a month for some R&R. For a day, or at the most two. There is no “leave on Friday afternoon and I’ll be back on Monday.” Sorry, kids. It doesn’t work that way.

What does this mean?

This does not mean you drop a line into your RP. “Oh, I had an errand to run given to me by a senior.” Not cool. It means you send Mags or Toxin a page saying “Hey, is it all right to leave the island right now?” Cause guess what. There are times when it is NOT okay for you to leave the island. Or, if you ask for frequent trips, Toxin or Mags may have an RP with you and give you suspicious looks and ask what’s going on. Trips are not always granted.

And if we send you to the mainland on a mission, do the mission. Nothing else. Expect that every once in a while, you’ll be followed. You’ll be watched to make sure you’re doing your job. This is not a democracy you work for. It’s a dictatorship.

Standing orders would be that no juniors should leave the island for at least a week after a mission is run, especially if that mission is run near or in New York City. It would take that long, or longer, for the Brotherhood to discover if pictures were taken of members, or if any descriptions were gotten. AKA, don’t go anywhere! If you are a known and wanted person, chances are you’re not going off island without an extensive disguise, if at all. This is for your character’s IC safety, not cause we feel like holing you up and watch you go stir-crazy.

Cell phones:

All juniors and seniors would have been issued a cellular phone upon arrival on the island. (Once you’re trusted, of course.) These phones are for use between Brotherhood members only! No other phones would be allowed on the island. The cell phones the BoM uses would be working on an illegal network. So calling people not in the Brotherhood with one? Big no-no. If you’re hiding an extra phone and you’re caught with it, you will be in serious trouble. Do NOT call people not in the Brotherhood while on the island. That’s just asking for trouble.

Whether you guys are aware of this or not…most modern cell phones can be tracked with their signal using a GPS type system. This is why the BHers are so careful about who they call. Calls can be traced, not to mention tapped in and listened to.

What some of you are failing to understand, I think, are the consequences for your actions. The Brotherhood WILL follow ICA=ICC rigidly. Expect to get punished when you screw up. Punishments are wide and varied, and generally depend on who the person is giving out punishment. Your character CAN be killed for doing something seriously stupid. Common sense is the name of the game here. This is not a “My Way or the Highway” business. It’s the Brotherhood way. There is no highway.
