Have absolutely no idea why I am doing this while my mid-term exam is less than 12 hours away~ Oh well, I've never been good at having ideas about why I do the things I do, especially when it involves Arashi.

Another old issue of non.no that hasn't been translated.

Please excuse the random comments *bow* Seems like I enjoyed myself rather too much with this talk LOL I love how they refer to all Arashi members' hairstyles by "the Love so sweet periods" or "the Maou time" etc., because that's exactly how I usually talk about their hairstyles too (*0*)

Matsumoto Jun X Aiba Masaki

Vol.25 - 「Hair’s Arashi」
A fresh feeling from the Britain-style mushroom haircut! After going through an extremely bold image change, the two of them had a discussion. What are their fixations regarding hair styles?

Photo: How's this hairstyle?

The theme this time is 「Hairstyles」. Sakurai kun, the one who suggested the theme, said that 「I’d like to see you guys challenge a rare hairstyle!」, and so, to answer his request, Matsumoto kun X Aiba kun went for a “mod style mushroom haircut”. The two of them decided to completely transform into show models for our viewing pleasure. We also got to listen to their hairstyle-related stories.

Short hair, blond hair, tsuburokku. What kind of transformation are we expected to go through next!?
(T/N: I have read a bunch of texts about this tsuburokku hairstyle and still don’t have the remotest idea about how to explain it properly in English. Gomen~ (T___T) So here’s an illustration:

)

Aiba: (the two of them checked out each other’s hairstyle) This is such a novel style. We have managed a perfect response to Shou chan’s request!
Jun: The original concept is “leading edge” but…… Aiba chan, you sorta give off a retro feeling too. At the moment I’m filming for a drama set in Japan of the Showa period (『Wagaya no rekishi』, planned to be broadcasted next spring), when I look at you, I can’t help thinking 「This kid will definitely fit in with the filming scene」 (laugh).
(T/N: Showa period is from 1926.12.25 to 1989.1.7)
Aiba: I have that feeling too! And yet MatsuJun looks that much like a foreigner~. I guess my facial features do not stand out enough after all (laugh). (X Monster’s comment: *gasp* what the heck are you saying you pretty boy?)
Jun: Say, do you happen to have any fixation regarding your usual hairstyle?
Aiba: Umm, I usually let the hair & make up artists decide my haircut. When it comes to styling, I only use a little wax to get it done as simple as possible……
Jun: Right, exactly. Me too, rather than changing hairstyles, I’d wear hats to create different looks. Recently I tried to count and saw that I have around 50 hats at home. I’m also the type that wouldn’t pay much attention to girls’ hairstyles. If her hairstyle suits her then it’s good enough (laugh)!
(X Monster’s comment: well, Jun dear, mostly all of the girls in this world are trying hard to look for exactly that ONE thing you mentioned: a hairstyle that looks good. What else matters?)
Aiba: That’s true. Just that, it looks like girls would be able to have more fun trying out different arrangements if their hair is long. (X Monster’s comment: not necessarily so Aiba chan, short hair is fun in its own rights, trust me!) Recently, in order to look good in various kinds of Western clothing, I’ve tried to keep my hair at moderate length. (X Monster’s comment: and who just said that he lets the stylists decide his hairstyle? Aiba chan you pathetic liar!)
Jun: Same goes for me. To maintain the hairstyle I’m having now requires quite a lot of determination. Actually I want to go for an extreme short haircut, but at times, it’s important for your hairstyle to match with the role you’re playing.
Aiba: What is the hairstyle that left you the most impression up until now?
Jun: My personal favorite is the style around the time of 『Iza, Now』 (2004 album), when I grew my hair quite long at the back. Even though after that period I’ve tried many times to return to that hairstyle, it’s just not the same. Maybe because my facial features have changed.
(T/N: Jun's Iza, Now hair:

)
Aiba: I have a strong impression about the blond hair I wore around the time of 『Love so sweet』 (2007 single). My hair got damaged a little in the process though.
(T/N: have no idea why I don't have a single photo of Aiba chan in this period T___T take a look at the CD cover for now... anyone willing to donate a solo photo of Aiba chan with this hairstyle will receive my virtual bone-breaking hug.
Muahahahahha, now I've got a bunch of blond Aiba chan's pictures thanks to kartenshi_09. Luv u *hug* Here's one:

)
Jun: Among Aiba chan’s hairstyles, the one I really like was during the time of 『HERE WE GO!』 (2002 album). It made you look kind of mischievous.
(T/N: Aiba chan's HERE WE GO! look:

)
Aiba: Really? As for me, the MatsuJun hairstyle that I remember the most is the curly curly one in 『Hana yori dango』 (2005~ drama). Even though you didn’t choose it on your own, that style really did suit you so well! In Shou chan’s case, the style when he did 『The quiz show』 (2009 drama), the one that had his hair tips flipped outwards, looked quite good on him. (X Monster’s comment: oh Aiba chan, your references are really similar to mine ♥) As for Riidaa and Nino...... well, these two haven’t gone through any dramatic changes, have they (laugh)?
(T/N: Jun as Domyoji, well even though I'm pretty sure none of you needs a picture to recall this hairstyle of his LOL:

and, MC Kamiyama ♥x1000:

)
Jun: It has been a succession of minor changes, right? Ah, in Riidaa’s case, the dark hair that he wore at the time of 『Maou』 (2008 drama) was quite refreshing. About Nino, I want to see him wear the blond hair that he had in 『PIKA★NCHI』 (2002 movie) again! When I was in my 20s I used to consider dying my hair punk-style blond too. Aiba chan, what do you think of the tsuburokku style (laugh)?
(T/N: Naruse Ryo sama ♥♥♥

and, well, I don't have a PIKA★NCHI Nino solo pic either, why? T____T

)
Aiba: Isn’t that nice~, talking about real efforts regarding hairstyles, it just has to be a hardcore tsuburokku cut, not those usual easy and soft ones, right (laugh)? By the way, I suddenly feel like going wild and growing a mustache ♪
Jun: …… (X Monster’s comment: poor Jun was rendered speechless LOL) But then, if you do both of those things (T/N: wearing a tsuburokku haircut + a mustache), you would end up looking nothing like an idol (laugh)!

Hey, guess how much that outfit of Jun cost? Brake yourself, the following is shock-causing-guaranteed.
Jun: Shirt ¥65100 ・ Coat ¥174300 ・ Pants ¥79800 ・ Shoes ¥109200/Christian Dior (Dior Homme) ----> ¥428,400, or $4570, for an outfit LMAO
Aiba chan: Knitted top ¥27300 ・ Pants ¥35700 ・ Shoes ¥37800/International Gallery Beams (MIHARA YASUHIRO)
