To be nobody-but-yourself -- in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting. e.e. cummings

Did I get booted off your friends list because of anything I did or said? Or was it by accident at some point? Or maybe you just didn't want my stuff showing up on your friends list to read?
I'd thought it had been a while since seeing an entry of yours - Saw this one and thought of it again and realized I've been unfriended.
At any rate, it is okay and all that - Would appreciate knowing why though if you don't mind telling me. And big apologies if I did or said something that was offensive to you.

Hi again, there was some things you had said that I disagreed with back during the Katrina stuff, and I always figure that rather than arguing in peoples personal journals about things it's sometimes easier to just unfriend to avoid feeling attacked in somewhere where you're free to say whatever you want. i can add you back on, it's no biggie...I was just already emotional as it was then and didn't wanna deal, ya know?

Thanks - Its a darn shame that there isn't an easy way to remove someone from our READING friend's list but still keep them friended so they can read our stuff. Sounds like that was what you were wanting to do?
At any rate, just for any future references - I definitely don't ever count any opinions that disagree with mine as argueing and in fact, often I highly highly welcome them.
Anyways, lemme guess, you were probably referring to this post as being disturbing? I did actually post a followup to that one which you may not have seen - It sort of outlines my whole "self reliance" stance and how it came to be. Believe it or not, I was very disturbed by my own lack of compassion when it seemed to me as though everyone and their brother was feeling totally compassionate towards ALL these people and very much WANTED to find my compassion button. Oprah did it though. She did two shows from the "ground zero" area and well, no, I had no idea. My whole lack of compassion thing was strongly rooted in a lack of understanding of the

that has always been one of my favourite quotes in the world since high school or junior high or something // and also true friends stab you in the front. -- oscar wilde ... ugh, if you ever have free time, read his things ! the book the picture of dorian gray is the only book i have EVER liked the ending of. i always despise endings and wish i never read to the end of books because the endings disappoint me. but this hit the spot and ohhowilovedit!
quotes are so necessary sometimes. i hope you are well. & i like your icon !! it makes me miss colours and recycling and summer.
