So I left Missouri and drove east. It took a long time.

So I listend to some of my music, wrote some notes. Started working on a song in my head.

Finally I got to Ohio.

Guess what? Snow!

I had dinner at Arrowhead lodge on the Lake of the Ozarks. Pretty, although manmade. I got there at night and most of the cool shops there we double-closed. Once, for it being night; twice for it being not summer. Arrowhead Lodge had amazing blackberry cobbler, each seed that popped between my teeth was divine. I'll be leaving in a few minutes to drive up to Jeff City and pick up my niece from her ghetto crib, maybe stop at one of the several fried chicken shacks for lunch, and then head back to California for the drive south to Lake of the Ozarks. It seems that when you leave downtown, your not actually in a town at all. Then you're in the county, or backcountry. Totally unlike Maine, where your in a town or a county at a given time. In Missouri, your in town, or your in the county. I find it facinating ( Read more... )

I'm in California now, Missouri. Missouri is hell to drive through. It was a smooth drive before I hit the St. Louis Arch. It was dramatic, like I was chasing the sunset. Maybe I'm (still) a romantic, but it seems to last almost forever when your driving into it at 85mph.

After that drive, I need to sleep.

I'm about to leave for Cleveland. Should be a fun night of fun. Going to have Mongolian BBQ, perhaps stop at a bar afterwards and play some arcade games. Could be fun. Then I go to bed and wake up at 6am to drive west to California.

So I got in my car and I drove west. After four hours or so, I saw the land change and dark foreboding clouds ahead. I felt like I was entering the badlands or something. Ben left a week ago and nobody has any idea where he is. Should I like call somebody? I mean, it's kind of nice with all this extra room here.
