He wasn't that great of a person...the only reason why most of you know him and becasue of Dave Chapelle's skit where he said, "I'm rick James Bitch!".
So do us all a favor and shut up about Richard James, he sucked, you suck, shut it.

He actually never said "im rick james bitch"..but he did help revive a dying genre and I'd say that even if he wasnt on tv...so dont insult your intelligence by saying he was worth nothing just because your annoyed by people making it a big deal.

dude, until yesterday i didnt even know rick james was a real person. i know the song & i know the skit,but i just didnt know. and i swear i saw that announcment in every paper and journal, along with one article about how alice cooper's snake swallowed a heating pad.
