"And that one is called Great Cotton Candy."
"... really?"
"Sure! Ohoh, and that one is my favorite; Friday's Special Yakisoba Sandwich! See? That group of stars makes the noodles and over there is the bread, plus the special sauce the cook lady uses."
Teito frowned, twisting his head slightly and staring into the sky as Mikage cheerfully pointed at it. "I don't see anything."
Mikage leaned closer and kept pointing insistently but Teito still didn’t get it. He sighed.
“You only need to use a little imagination...”
“I need to use what?”
Sweatdropping, Mikage took a mental note to make sure to amplify Teito’s vocabulary later. “Er… it’s when you use your mind to try to, um, see things that are not there but…”
Teito raised an eyebrow. “Why would I do that?”
“Because it stimulates your body and makes you taller, of course.”
As Teito turned around to see him, Mikage could clearly see his disbelieving yet hopefully naïve expression; it was almost cute. ”Really?”
“When have I lied to you?” The blond smirked. He was brilliant.
Teito didn’t answer that, simply turning around to watch the sky again, obviously making an effort to see whatever imagery Mikage had wanted him to see in every certain bunch of stars. The blond was about to burst into laughter.
“You two! What do you think you’re doing outside the dorms at the middle of the night?!” The two boys looked up to find a displeased looking long haired blond.
“Hey, Hakuren.” Mikage greeted cheerfully. “We’re just stargazing!”
Teito nodded. “We were waiting for you and Mikage said you’ll find us quicker if we stayed here.” In response Mikage only beamed.
Blushing, Hakuren frowned as he looked away, seeming to be having an internal fight as to whether he should scold them or thank them.
“Come join us, Hakuren!” Mikage exclaimed cheerfully, extending his arms in a swift motion. “We’re just getting to the best part~”
Teito didn’t seem to get the joke and Mikage just grinned as Hakuren mumbled something and walked towards them, laying in the grass right beside them.
“I think I can see the Yakisoba now, Mikage.”
“… what Yakisoba?”
