I railed on an acquaintance who failed to understand why I was so upset about it when I saw the article whenever it made the Times most emailed list. I was infuriated by the things I saw in my overactive imagination that were commonplace for girl, humiliated for the mother who couldn't protect her daughter, pissed off all over again at people who put stock in a religion that would sanctify such behavior and penalize victims, and, had that vile man been on this continent, I might have been moved to violence. Afterward, I read a piece on how in Burundi they're hunting people with albinism and chopping them up to put in potions because they think they're magic. Augh! Hell, I'm still spitting mad and sickened by all of it. Some days more than others I wish I weren't allergic to alcohol.
