Minseok stares, completely bewildered as he tilts his head up to look at his best friend slash roommate. He eyes the blonde long ears twitching with every sound that makes it into them, “You’re a rabbit.”
Yifan’s ear twitches before his eyebrow does and he’s closing his eyes in anger before letting out a steady, annoyed breath, “I’m not a rabbit.”
Minseok continues to stare in wonder as he slowly circles the taller male, gaze falling down to see the customary fluffball of a rabbit’s tail sticking out above his sweatpants and below his wifebeater. He reaches out a curious hand and pets the tail, causing Yifan to flinch and jump away from him. “You’re a rabbit,” he repeats again, still completely bewildered.
“No, I’m not!” Yifan yelps out, moving his hands up to flatten his ears against his blonde hair. He pouts, “I’m not a rabbit.”
“Out of all the domestic animals that injection could’ve turned you into,” Minseok starts off slowly again, eyeing his best friend up and down, “It turns you into a rabbit.”
Yifan looks at him helplessly before falling into a crouch on the floor, finger coming out to draw miserable circles of despair on the ground, ears falling flat in disappointment. The elder continues to stare at him, trying to process what he just woke up to, before he slowly moves forward, watching with interest as an ear twitches upwards at his movement. He tilts his head, still trying to analyze everything, “So, how long will the effects of this last?”
Yifan pouts, looking up at him, “The scientists said a week at the longest.”
“And why did you do this again?”
“We needed more money to live comfortably.”
Minseok nods slowly, watching as Yifan stands up completely and starts sniffing the air, ears turning back and forth before he makes his way into the kitchen, the elder following in after him, “What are-”
“Kyungsoo’s here,” Yifan mumbles before he looks out the window, eyeing the freshly baked goods the younger is carrying with him. He stares longingly at the delicious treats before he suddenly bounces once and runs for the safety of his bedroom, “I’m not here!”
The elder watches in amazement as Yifan hops twice in the midst of his run before the door slams shut and the doorbell suddenly rings. He raises a brow before going to the door and opening it, “Hey, baby Soo.”
“Would you stop calling me that?” Kyungsoo questions irritably, although out of habit now, before he’s looking around him in search of Yifan, “So, what animal hybrid did he turn into? Jongin got turned into a cat.”
“Jaguar, mind you!” comes the shout from down the driveway.
“Ignore him,” Kyungsoo quickly amends, earning an immediate hiss from the other, “He’s also thinking about making it permanent.”
Minseok peers out of his front door to see the other with arms crossed and black tail swishing back and forth behind him. He nods at him before turning to Kyungsoo who hands him the plastic bag, “I don’t think he wants you guys to know.”
Kyungsoo gives a creepy smile then before turning around and walking away, “Oh, this’ll be good.”
Minseok eyes him before sighing and closing the door behind him. He’s looking into the bag of goodies when he turns around and is surprised to see Yifan standing in the hallway, biting his lip with one ear bent halfway and the other perked up in the air. He closes his eyes in exasperation, “Of all the animals, you get turned into a rabbit.”
“I’m not a rabbit!” Yifan shouts out desperately before moving his way and trapping the other between his body and the front door.
The other looks up at him, not really fazed at all by the obvious lack of personal space between them, “I’m pretty sure you’re a rabbit with those ears and that tail,” before reaching around and squeezing the fluffball of a tail behind him.
Yifan yelps again before sudden desire takes over his body, pushing himself more onto the smaller man trapped against him and the door. “I’m not a rabbit,” he breathes out before leaning down and kissing Minseok on the mouth.
Minseok rolls his eyes before returning the kiss briefly and pushing the other away from him to put the bag of baked goods on the kitchen counter. It doesn’t take long before he feels Yifan clinging onto his body from behind in the form of an overbearing hug, and it should be unnerving since it’s almost a complete 180 from usual Yifan, but he expects this type of behavior from a rabbit hybrid. He sighs before slowly making his way into his bedroom, “Come on, Fan. I’ll take off work for the next week until your experimentation deal is done with.”
Yifan’s ears perk up at the decision before he disentangles himself from the smaller male and runs, mainly hops, into the bedroom, “I’m bottoming!”
Yeah, Minseok decides with another sigh, it’s too early for this nonsense, and it should really be unnerving, but he can’t complain if he’s topping for the next week because his rabbit hybrid of a roommate will be too excited and bouncy to argue.
“Hey, Jongdae,” Kyungsoo happily tells his friend over the phone, Jongin’s tail wrapped around his arm possessively, “Guess who else turned into a rabbit?”
Jongdae smirks from the other end, looking over beside him to see Sehun’s long cream-colored ear twitch in his sleep, “Oh. I can guess who.”
