Um, yeah...there are obvious reasons why I seldom discuss it. I'm FB friends with his sister and mom. He married shortly after we broke up and according to his sister, he picked up my habit of reading, something which he always disdained when we were together. None of my friends liked him, but they never said anything until after we'd broken up. But yeah, he *got* me, which was why I ran to him.
One reason why I like writing stuff like this is because even if it doesn't change anything, it's black-and-white proof about myself which I would tend to ignore otherwise.
I'm really glad I doubled back because I first read you were taking a bye, so I might have missed this. But you certainly raise an intriguing concept that maybe we are subconsciously seeking out ways to push or be pushed.
Great take on the prompt! I love how you've internalized it, and shown us how this works for you. I wish it was in my nature to be more like you. Unfortunately, when I feel I'm being pushed I am likely to just sit down.
LOLOL -- I know you have a lot of company! Many of my coworkers over the years were, and are like that. I never understood it when I was younger but now I do :)

3 years with someone you didn't really like? Wow! But he hit you where you live...

I'm being *pushed* at work right now and for the first time in my life I'm digging my heels into the ground...

If we push each other, we can conquer anything. Yes! I so believe in this. I love challenges and it brings out the best in me.
