I believe you are on the right mindset. It's not so old fashioned, it's just more of a test. I see dates as getting to know the person and seeing if you two are compatible. I still set the rule as no kiss on the first date. I'm sure to some people, THAT'S old fashion.
It's just set up as how you view it, really. don't display yourself so easily. Sex in a relationship IS important, but it's more important to have a balance.
Chemistry ways, are you two compatible that you can enjoy each other's company just by talking? Sexual ways, are you attracted to that person? And is that person attracted to you?
Go at it your own way, you don't have to be openly sexual. I think it's more ladylike and redeeming if you're not :)
Don't worry! There are a lot of people who understand where you're coming from :)

And so, what do you personally think on how long till going to 'the next step' after officially dating? As in the boyfriend/girlfriend titles.
