oh gosh i completely forgot about those!!! damn, i've got a long book list already...i've got to finish pride and prejudice, then memoirs of a geisha and jane eyre, then reread da vinci code (my nerdy nu friends want to have a book club over break on it) and now these!

thanks for reminding me about them...hope your US final went well, but i'm positive it did!

Correction: His Dark Materials are even better than Harry Potter.

Not that I dislike Harry Potter - I remembered why I liked 'em in the first place after seeing the new movie. But His Dark Materials are probably better in every way, including the simple surface reasons like interesting writing, suspenseful/entertaining plot, and accessible characters.

Hey Pat! You know, the more I read the books (i just finished subtle knife) the more I'm beginning to agree with you. The books are so well written, they just seem to lack the hype of HP.

Hey Julia!

Shame your exams didn't go quite as you'd liked, but at the end of the girl you can always go up to someone and be like ''Yea I'm a Northwestern girl...FACE'' I've been online a lot lately, but you always are away. I'll call you on Saturday. I get free calls to the US on the Saturdays of December!
